We spent 4 nights at the Ndutu Tented Lodge last week. During this time of the year, this camp is the place to be. The staff couldn't have been more friendly, with kind greetings and always asking if there is something we need or that they can do for us. Our waiter, Johnson, went out of his way at each meal to make us comfortable, and manage our many breakfast and lunch takeouts. Our room and all common buildings were spotless, and the grounds were well maintained with flowers and trees. The view from our porch was also great, with wandering giraffes during the day and the sounds of lions and hyenas very close by at night. Some rooms has better views than others, ask for one in front on the lake side; our room was #9. The food was great, nice bar and pool area. During this time of he year this camp is in the ideal location. We were right in the middle of the annual migration. Many times we were surrounded by 100's of thousands of wildebeests. We saw thousands of wildebeests babies including many births. We have stayed at other locations in Ndutu, but the Lake Ndutu Luxury Lodge is by far the best.

We stayed in five safari locations in northern Tanzania and Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge was our favorite. The food, the accommodations, and the service was the best. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, all the amenities had been thought of (including fresh water to brush your teeth with and mosquito repellant towelettes). We enjoyed being able to sit on our deck and see giraffe and elephants walk by. / The barbecue dinner (served in a safe location) - under the stars with camp fires for light was a very special treat. / Good internet service too!

We loved our stay at Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge and don't know where to begin... The tented rooms are amazingly comfortable, with tented walls but a front out of glass for perfect views from inside if you don't want to sit on your private balcony. Behind the bedroom area is a walk through closet followed by a saloon door which leads into the spacious bathroom. We found the bathroom special as it had two showers: one inside and one outside! The room also had a minibar and extremely fast wifi. What we liked best about these tented rooms was that they are not too close to each other and you really get a feeling of privacy in the middle of the bush. The main area holds a nice fireplace, a large deck with a swimming pool, restaurant and bar and also an elevated observation deck. This is great especially during the migration time when Lake Ndutu is surrounded by wildebeest. Service and food was absolutely amazing, during our stay we were spoiled by the staff with a romantic candle light dinner by the swimming pool!

Set in secluded bush with animals near-by, the tent camp is an oasis. Fully equipped "tents" situated under both rain and sun covers, the tents evoke safari tents from the colonial era...but with full shower and bathroom accommodations. The staff, each and everyone one of them, were friendly, accommodating, and excellent at what they do. The food was great. All meals served with class and tastes that prove the chef was more than a cook. Of all the places my brother and I stayed on safari, that included not only tented, luxury camping, lodges and boutique hotels, this was our FAVORITE.

This was my first time staying at this lodge with my clients. The rooms are well-appointed, the dining staff and setting very comfortable, food is very good with lots of choices. The grounds are very authentic for the safari atmosphere. The bath has a fabulous open-air shower which was a welcome at the end of the day. Can's say enough about each member of the staff; they were awesome all the time!

The individual rooms, especially the large bathroom, has very poor lighting and the swinging cafe-doors from the bedroom area to the bathroom were annoying.

We were a tour group of 30 and stayed 3 nights (room 2 wonderful) - best of the entire 11 day Safari! The “tents” are beyond spectacular, location stunning and just yards from the great migrating herds, food just lovely and service over the top. What I mean by that is the genuine warmth, kindness, welcome and attentiveness was perfect and gracious. But most of all it was Ronald, head of Housekeeping, who sought to make sure everyone was comfortable and safe - he anticipated needs and quietly and expertly provided with sincere hospitality. For me at my age and the cost makes it a once in a lifetime experience- all the more memorable because of Mr. Ronald.

The location in the Serengeti is excellent and allow easy access to some great game drives. Knowing that the site is open to wildlife adds an element of feeling part of the park. The accommodation is very well equipped.

my husband and I stayed at this lovely tented lodge reserved for us by 4x4 Adventures on our first evver Africa safari, the season had picked up with lots of gnu and predators though the roads were a nuisance due to the heavy rains..the check in was a bit ackward as it did not seem welcoming with the reception having a chair for registration and my partner had to sit at the back seats (prefered we were sat together being a couple!) The welcoming staff seemed somehow rude making us feel unwelcomed and we communicated to our safari guide who in turn informed the manager.. surprisingly, the manager approached our dining table with a complimentary bottle of well chilled white wine (he did this to another couple too at the dining area, seemed like a norm) apologizing for the situation with a hearty conversation and went even further on our check out at his office to waive our entire drinks bill! highly recommended, the lodge is well placed, restaurant staff were professional and our room cleaner did an exceptional job..will definitely plan a return trip as we failed to enjoy much of the calving due to the poor roads conditions. oh! and the chefs did an exceptional job too!

We enjoyed having dinners and breakfasts at the beautiful restaurant of Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge because Fred was very attentive and provided top notch service during our 2-night stay there. The food was delicious and prepared with care. So, 5 stars are for Fred and the chefs.

We did not feel the hospitality at our orientation. The manager was nowhere to be seen throughout our visit. The beds are comfortable but the room is very dark and old styled. The sticky rat trap in the bathroom was a warning sign. They also obviously have insect problems because every day when we were at dinner, they would close all the windows and spray insecticide throughout the room. The noxious smells were annoying to say the least. We also were surprised that we could not have breakfasts and dinners with our safari guide which was important to us to go through our plans. That’s why I gave one star in this review. If we visit Ndutu in the near future, we will choose another accommodation.

Dear Wendy K, Thank you for taking the time to share with us your experience at Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge. We greatly appreciate your feedback. Insects and rodents are part of the wildlife in Ndutu, and the best we can do is to keep them away from guest rooms and lodge public areas. Please accept our apologies for the scent of the insect spray which we will try to keep as odorless as possible. Lighting at the lodge is by solar power, and, in response to your comment, it is in our plans to provide more light in the guest rooms. The safari crew (drivers & guides) have a separate cafeteria for dining and social entertainment within the lodge premises. However, the crew can dine with guests upon guests' request which would involve some minimal extra cost. Our commitment at Lake Ndutu is to provide the finest in service and personal attention to all our guests, and your feedback is greatly appreciated as we constantly strive to achieve this goal. We would be pleased to have another opportunity to welcome you again to Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge. Thank you once again for the feedback.

Really comfortable rooms, kind and attentive staff, lodge very well located in the heart of Ndutu Lake area, and surprising upscale installations to dust off the safari. We particularly liked to watch the sunset in the deck close to the pool, while sipping a wine or drink. Truly recommend!
