This was by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. The staff were extremely unhelpful and rude. There were several problems with this hotel - but the main problem was the fact they made me pay the full amount twice!!! I had booked this hotel 3 months before my stay and paid the full amount straight away, this left my bank account and my bank confirmed the hotel had received the payment. However, upon my arrival they claimed they had not received it despite the proof i had and refused to let us leave until i paid the FULL AMOUNT again! I have never had an experience like it and would not recommend anybody use this hotel!

Response from RadhiaChambera, General Manager at Aishi Machame Hotel
Responded 4 days ago
Dear Olivia Thanks for leaving your feedback. In fact, you have already left a similar one at booking.com platform. We have been trying to reach you, but neither our calls, nor emails are answered. Here is the copy of our reply left at booking four days ago: -------------- This is Radhia, the general manager of Aishi Machame Hotel. We are very saddened to know that this situation happened. Please accept our sincerest apologies. In fact, it is the first situation of that kind we have ever encountered. Hopefully, it was the only inconvenience that you had during your stay in Aishi Machame. We also understand that, perhaps, disappointed by this situation, you decided to put the lowest rating to all other points. That is entirely comprehensible - myself I would have been upset as well, if anything of that kind happened to me. At the same time, we would like to see if there is anything we can do to make your memories about Aishi and Tanzania less bitter. Unfortunately, you were checking-in late in the evening, and since your check-out was early in the morning, you did spend quite a little time at our hotel. I was not around at that time, and could not resolve the situation. We are very regretful of that. We have sent several emails and made numerous phone calls to express our apologies and not only make the full refund, but to discuss the possibility of extra compensation. Unfortunately, neither our calls, nor emails were answered. I will be very appreciative, if you drop me a line to gm@aishi-machame.com so that I can arrange a refund to your banking account or credit card. --------------- Again, we are extremely sorry for what has happened. This signal is very concerning to us, and we will be looking forward to hearing from you to arrange a refund. Yours truly, Radhia, General Manager

This hotel acted as a quiet and cool oasis for us in the evenings while we were on a Compassion trip visiting local child development centres. Staff were helpful, pool was a pleasant addition and food was more than adequate. Not luxurious but we weren't looking for that.

Stayed 1 night before start of Kilimanjaro climb. Got room 104. Water pressure in the shower was very low and you have to wait at least 5 minutes for water to heat up. The fan provided was pretty loud and being a light sleeper, it took me a while to fall asleep. There was no kettle or hot beverages like some other reviews mentioned. Quite a lot of mosquitoes around and I didn't dare leave the windows open because of the mosquitoes and in case any animals crawled through at night, so the room felt warmer than the outside and a bit stuffy.

Aishi Machame was overall a nice place to stay. The rooms are absolutely fine and nice enough. You may not get internet in your room, however you will at reception. The food was fine, but nothing special.

We arrived after a long flight and headed straight to the pool, which was nice and were pleasantly surprised to see the monkeys playing in the surrounding trees. Food and restaurant were good with a limited selection and rooms were OK, but do not expect luxury...no TVs, slow warm water. Service overall also OK. Really average, no outstanding feature, but also nothing bad.
