Nice staff... low quality food in restaurant wifi average. Power only between 4 pm and 10 am daily... usually... I would look for a better place if you can... there is security, I think.... bar area is in the centre court area of the hotel. Rooms are over priced for the room condition, but the Star beer is only 500 N ...

I have stayed here on 2-3 occasions last time was oct or nov 2016. The hotel is located in a nice quiet and safe area in Bodija. The staff are nice and courteous. Rooms are adequate and clean. The last time I stayed here, they had a notice informing guests that they no longer offer 24 hrs electricity. However, you get power supply through the night. The air conditioners in the rooms keep the rooms nice and cold. The bathroom was very small, clean but with rusty stains and chips the bathrooms needed some serious updating. The water pressure is very low. We had a problem with the a/c in the first room we were given and we were promptly relocated. I had breakfast one time and it was very good. My main concerns are the bathroom and electricity issues (which maybe different in 2017). Next time, I may look into other alternatives based on the price but I could stay here if necessary

Last time I stayed at this hotel was in 2000 prior to my visit on the 1st of Dec 2016. The hotel is quite neat and the staff very helpful. What I enjoyed best was their food. I had delicious gbegiri (beans) soup with goat mean and eba for lunch and then Jollof rice, dodo (fired plantain) and bushmeat for dinner at the lovely courtyard bar. The only problem I have was with the bathroom, eventhough it was clean it looked quite old and could do with an upgrade, also the water pressure was very low hence the reason they kept a bucket and bowl for bathing. Can't remember when last I saw that in a hotel of such standard. The hotel is located in the very safe, serene and quiet Old Bodija, access to taxi was easy and there are 2 night clubs not far away on Awolowo avenue for those who love night life. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay there again

I stayed at the Davies Hotel on a recent work trip to Ibadan. The lobby was painted in a bold red and laid out in a funky way, which looked promising. The room was just okay. Clean and comfortable enough without being exceptionally so. Same with the bathroom. Since I was there for work, I did not spend much time in the room beyond the evening/night. The menu in the restaurant held similar promise and I ordered the rice and ata dindin, only to be told that they did not have it. I eventually asked what they had. The rice and stew that followed was quite good. The breakfast selection was frankly poor. After staying in quite a few budget to middle-range hotels, I didn't expect much for the breakfast selection, but even I found the 2-3 items on offer hugely disappointing. A big plus were the staff, who were friendly and helpful. I can't compare it to anywhere else in Ibadan, but on it's own, it's not a bad place to stay.
