From my 4 nights and 5 days stay over the Easter holiday 2022, I would say Kaskazi is Not a world class facility, despite its huge potential and strategic location. The building is old and needs urgent maintenance, Bathrooms with old rusted metallic taps and knobs and unpleasant smell. However, let me give due credit to the chefs at the restaurant, the food was ever wonderful, the cleaning staff for their routine room cleaning and change of linen, security guys at the gate, and warm reception staff. As I said, there's huge room for improvement.
What a surprise we had when we visited this hotel and we were wowed by the design and location of this hotel. From the welcoming point at the reception and how we were received, to us been taken to our rooms and astonished by the ocean facing room that we were given. The room was nicely cleaned, nicely made and there was a bathtub. We were very eager to see the dining area and for us to have our meal and we were not disappointed. The Karibu Restaurant is warm, inviting and nicely designed. The food was amazing and what was left was for us to go and relax by the pool side and enjoy our cocktails. We had a great time and most definitely we shall be back here again very soon. Thank you all for making our stay to be a memorable one...!!!
Kaskazi is a terrible hotel, with very poor maintenance and very unhygienic toilets... the food was terrible, flies everywhere... the pool was very dirty..no towels in the washrooms ... total shambles and no value for money!!!
The resort was not very full in May 2021 when we visited due to Covid-19, but we had a wonderful time. They gave us a room on the top floor with a beautiful view of the resort and the beach and provided us with bottled water and cleaned our room daily. The dinners were lovely. They consisted of a soup course, main course and fruit for dessert. Some nights it was a buffet. We especially loved the servers Henry and Joseph. They always went the extra mile to make our meals amazing. The pool was very nice and and warm, and we loved walking on the beach in the late morning time when the tide was at its lowest so we could see all the sea creatures (octopus, fish, crabs, sea life, etc...) The front desk was also very accommodating. When we asked them if it was ok to check out a little bit late since our flight left at night, they hacuna matata or “no worries” and had no problem with us hanging around longer. Overall, it was an amazing resort. I would describe the place as a little rustic, but it is a great value for the price, it’s very clean and beautiful, and we felt like we were able to get the truly authentic African experience that we had hoped for!…
Seeing staff dragging their GM on a tarmac runway is really inhuman. No one should risk visiting this place. No human beings exist here. The level of indiscipline here is pathetic. DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE.
Never try this place, they stall my money, got the reservation amount twice from my credit card and refused to refund me. I stayed three nights on March 2020 and paid 208$ but after checkout i found that this amount has been taken twice from my credit card , I contacted the hotel and realized the problem but refused to refund me
I was there for 4 nights, Very warm and welcoming staff, From the reception, restraunt, pool, and the housekeeping staff, special thanks for making my stay super, Joseph for all the arrangements Apart from the power outage in the course of the stay, everything was fine Perhaps provisions of hair driers, room slippers would be a nice touch. Will definitely be back, and soon
I checked out on 13th march 2020.The room were were given was 436 and it was facing the pool and the beach am great full for that.The rooms are very spacious with both shower and bathtubs. Despite a few challenges at the restaurant I would like to thank Robert Maole ,at the restaurant for understanding our needs at the restaurant.He was the best and always there to attend to us. i would also like to appreciate Nyakundi who served us at the restaurant and a lady i cant remember her name wearing black and white at the restaurant. Also Ben at the bar was so great.
Views are spectacular, however place is run down, no power or running water for the better part of my stay. Only good as a stopover onwards to a better facility. The guest rooms could use a functional AC
I booked three weeks before getting to the hotel. I called three times before my actual day of arrival just to make sure my booking was confirmed. On arriving, I was told my booking could not be traced. I was taken to view old rooms with funny looking beds and old fashioned tv. The management is a mess. I will never go back to the hotel and I advice every body booking this hotel online to be careful. Have a plan b. You might get the same frustration I was welcomed with. TRASH.
