Unknowing of the very interesting history of the place we booked a night based on location and previous reviews. If you are inclined to superluxurios, pampered places with the air of Ritz Carlton look elsewhere. But if you want to support education of sustainable environmental awareness in a place full of history go Elsamere. The story of the lioness Elsa...

Beautiful setting by Lake Naivasha where you will be visited by plenty of wildlife (zebras, hippos, colobus monkeys etc etc). Very friendly and helpful staff, great food, beautiful gardens and decent quality rooms. Overall an amazing place to spend a couple of days.

This is a quiet lodge built on reserve property to protect the wildlife of the area. Awesome work they do there, and great education centre. Its really beautiful and peaceful. If you are looking for adventure and lots of wildlife this is NOT the place, i suggest you go to Mara. But if you are looking for a save haven...

A weekend retreat, with good food and wonderful view. Friendly staff and interesting history of the adamsons. Very quiet and peaceful. Opt for the new rooms at the back, as those are bigger and better. The old rooms can be claustrophobic for a couple !

We did not stay here, we visited to see the work of Joy and George Adamson. The entrance fee was very reasonable. We watched a fascinating film of the life and work of Joy and George, it had terrific footage of the lions too. The museum was very interesting, and I didn`t realise that Joy was also a very talented...

Booked this at the last minute on a lark for a quiet weekend away. Service was good, accommodation fine, setting pretty and serene. Nice view of the lake. Excellent boat ride with Chege, he showed us an array of birds, hippos, and fish eagles (who swooped down to get some meat we threw in the water, which was exciting). Food...

This was a gift from friends and WOW! what a gift it was. It is great to see the continuation of the wonderful work that the Adamson's started. There are no fences so that animals are allowed to wander along their usual paths; so, we asked the askari to wake us up if there were any transits in the night:...

We had a buffet lunch in the peaceful gardens at the side of the lake. The monkeys are very pretty with their long black and white fur. The house had some interesting exhibits. I had not realised that joy adamson was such an excellent artist. The road around lake Naivashu is not great but there are some villages with colourful...

Just had the most relaxing weekend at Elsamere on the shores of the beautiful Lake Naivasha. Having a view of the lake from my bed was definitely priceless. The staff are very friendly and accommodating (especially Penninah and Isaac). Zebras and Hippos were strolling outside after dark for the guests viewing pleasure from the rooms. The property is very close...

I have been to many hotels in my life, but Elsamere is one of those places that stands out. It is amazingly simple and yet has a magnetic pull to it. It could be the history, it was home to Joy and George Adamson. It could be that they only have 10 rooms. It could be that guests are seated...

I first visited Elsamere in 2000 and it had the same effect on me then, so much so I joined the Elsa Conservation Trust and am now a Trustee. Even on my first visit it felt like home and that has never changed over the years. Thank you for taking the time to review your stay and I hope you...
