Checked in solo after a work event. It was definitely good to be back to hospitable staff and a good menu array and a comfy bed, as always. I appreciate them making arrangements for me having an early breakfast buffet so i could make my flight. I checked in on a Friday, and parry people will definitely enjoy the outdoor dinner, party, and pool area.

The room itself is amazing, an incredibly comfortable bed and great shower pressure. I can only imagine what the suites are like as the standard room was quite impressive. Spent a Friday here on transit to a funeral the next day. The hotel has a live band on the pool deck floor that has a restaurant which had a band that is so loud that it could be heard from my room on the 5th floor. It was also so loud that it could be heard at the restaurants in the adjacent mall due to the building design. I had opted to eat at the mall so as to escape the loudness of the music but it is everywhere. I believe it is great entertainment as a Friday night option for the locals, but if you are seeking peace and quiet you might wanna skip a Friday night.

If you want to stay at THE BEST hotel in Kisumu, Kenya, stay at the Acacia! We spent a few days there with our friends and their 2 children. We swam in the pool on the second floor, alongside their outdoor restaurant. The food was so good. I would recommend the chicken tikka masala, absolutely perfect. The hotel's location allows for easy access to the city center and has a grocery store on the first floor, along with a Java House in the same mall building. Lot's to see and do here! We did have an issue come up, but the manager, Mr. Shanawaz Basheer was extremely accommodating. His commitment to customer service, exemplifies what customer service is all about. I have found that the way a business reacts to a perceived problem is a testimony of their character. I would say Mr. Basheer displays a high standard of integrity and character as the general manager. He and his staff made us feel welcomed and our stay could not have been any better. This will always be our hotel of choice when we visit Kenya each year! I would recommend the breakfast inclusive rate, as the food is fantastic. Everything from traditional Kenyan food to a typical UK or US breakfast. The kids loved their waffles, the adults' enjoyed the made to order omelets with side dishes like matoke, beans, curried rice, mandazi's, cheeses, fruit and more than I can list. Enjoy! The rooms are spacious by anyone's standard, with large bathrooms and a shower several people could shower in at once. We found that every staff member from the front desk, to the restaurant, to housekeeping were very welcoming and eager to assist us in any need we had. After 5 weeks of performing humanitarian work, through our free vision clinics, this was the perfect place to relax and indulge in 5 star comfort! If you want comfort and luxury on the shore of Lake Victoria at a very fair price, the Acacia is the place to stay. They certainly earn the moniker of "Home of African Hospitality"!!…

Aqua pool restaurant has the worst service ever. The waiters are slow and unprofessional. We sat there for more than 10minutes as the waiters looked at us. And the place was not busy so no excuse for that. They should employ professionals who are well trained on customer service. So disappointed after all that hype 😏

Overall, I liked this hotel. They overbooked normal rooms and upgraded me to a suite, but only for one night and then inconvenienced me by making me move rather than just allowing me to stay in the suite. Once I moved, the light was out in my bathroom. I called 3 times to have the bulb replaced, they always assured me it would be replaced but it never was during my 4 night stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable though, and the food at the restaurants is good.

I have stayed in this hotel many times. In Kisumu this is one of the best hotels. - Good clean hotel - excellent location next to mall where you can have supermarket, shopping, food (Java restaurant), best Medical clinic (# 1 Aga Khan Hospital), Bank etc - Food in the restaurant is unmatchable. The chef makes best food - Staff are kind and flexible too Things to improve ================= - Lighting in the room is very poor and you can't work after evening in the room - Internet is inconsistent and unstable - Expensive

Staff are attentive and friendly, but the performance of the front desk could be improved as the service is fairly inconsistent. The rooftop restaurant is nice to frequent for the view of the lake and friendly staff. However, I would not recommend staying at the hotel as it is not worth the price (unless one has some money to burn) and it still has some way to go in the area of hospitality. I have enjoyed better service and amenities for far less in other locations. All in all, I will continue to frequent the restaurant and café when in town, but I do not plan to stay at the hotel any time soon.

Having heard of the high standards of Acacia Premier Hotel from my daughter, I was looking forward to a real experience. True to its name it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed my brief stay. I didn't get to test most of the services due to the nature of my trip.
