This is an old hotel which has a rundown appearance in many respects. However, I found many very favorable aspects.
The staff is superb. They were among the friendliest staff I encountered in my 30 day stay in Ghana. That includes everyone in all,are of the hotel.
The food is very good to excellent. The chef even made me a beef stir fry one evening which was delicious.
The pool is large and well cared for.
My room was large and very pleasant as was the bathroom.
It is certainly the very best option,in Ku,as I and the location is quiet.

The check-in was slow. Rooms are ok but lacks comb, electric kettle was missing, proper cups were not there. I think room service department needs inspection and training.
Restaurant is nice. Food quality is good. They have happy hour but the waiter tried to avoid serving us during happy hour and informed that draught beer is the only option for happy hour and stock is over. When I mentioned that I saw somewhere that other options are also there then he mentioned yes guinessse is there. They have no list of happy hours drinks for guests.
I am a new loyalty member and my online card is not showing loyalty number so they didn't give me any discount on food and beverages.
The landscape of hotel is good. Generally staff are pleasant and treat guests with respect. Also they helped me by giving hotel slipper when I asked for slipper as I forgot to pack my slipper. They should follow what they announced for happy hour and loyalty discounts for restaurant.
Let's see what this group of hotel does further. Using it for the first time, and may use it again depeneding on their response to this.

My husband and I stayed in at Golden Tulip for two nights. It's a nice hotel, beautiful newly refurbished lobby with friendly staff. The room was in an older part of the hotel and could do with a refurb. But it was clean, quiet and did the job. Breakfast was a buffet, with a huge range of things - you definitely won't go away hungry! Restaurant good for an evening meal and pool looked nice. Definitely the best hotel in Kumasi, in my opinion!

I stayed there for 2 nights. For a cost of $173 a night, I was expecting to have a decent access to internet. However, it wasn't even good enough to make a Whatsap call... I felt cheated because they responded to many reviews saying it had been addressed.
The shower had very low water pressure. The buffet costs twice as much as any main course from the a la carte menu, which is quite absurd. The staff wasn't very nice either... Not worth the money in my opinion

This property has so much potential. But, the entire hotel is in need of investment and a substantial refurbishment. The yucky stain-filled green carpet in the rooms needs to be removed, or at the very least needs a deep deep thorough steam cleaning. The bed was the hardest and most uncomfortable that I've ever slept on. The bedspread had stains. The chairs were worn and had what looked to me like holes from cigarettes. And for goodness sake who wants to share a shower curtain (particularly one with stains) in a hotel? Get rid of the shower curtains. And overall, poor lighting contributed to the dark rooms. The rooms are just too dated and in need of an upgrade for this place to be considered a 4-star hotel. And no, I do not feel I received a good value for the exorbitant price paid for a room.

Regarding breakfast. We're still in the middle of a pandemic. Rather than offering solely a buffet, an a la carte menu should also be offered. Not everyone is comfortable eating from a buffet even outside of a pandemic.

I, however, commend the waitstaff (particularly at the bar area) who were very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely return to eat or have drinks inside or poolside. But would skip an overnight stay.

I won't get into details meticulously. Stayed here 5 times with colleagues,I was elected to post our consensus of the Golden tulip.
It's fine consistently worse in the last year... From belowb average to be bad.

1. Old broken down lounge and rooms and furniture. Lighting in the room is like being in a cave
2. Service is atrocious, slow, "as a matter of fact" attitudes.
3. Internet is horrific. Spotty and slow in every room in both wings. Internet from your phone is better.
4. Food is exactly the same every day, breakfast and dinner. Greasy, rice, sausages are actually hot dogs. Lol. After a week the grease will probably upset your stomach. No veggies to speak of. Always always carrots, onions and some light green vegetable.
5. Room cards de magnetize After a few hours. So you have to line up and get a new one every time you're out. Very frustrating after a team of 4 returns from the work site.

The only reason they are busy is because there's little to no choice in the area. Imo

Hands down the worst hotel I’ve stayed at, worldwide, in 30 years. The only reason I stayed the 2 nights is the internet wasn’t strong enough to search for another hotel in the area. Day 2 our rooms were updated to what was originally booked 5 months prior, but to a similar effect. The carpet is stained and smelly throughout the entire hotel. The pictures are not accurate as when I asked for a room without carpet, I was told there were none. The common areas are in need of refurbishing and a deep, deep cleaning as well.

Initially I would say that the hotel was subjected to water damage and they tried to maintain the carpeting after the fact. However that doesn’t explain the carpet smell and stains on the 4th floor. The rooms and linens were questionable and overpowered by the smell of dirty carpet. The front desk is non responsive and aloof to the concerns, exhibited by the young lady texting through our conversation. There is not a single positive thing I can say about this hotel. I recommended the tour group we used take it out of their options. I would rather sit on a bus for 5 hours than stay there again.

The experience during the Valentine's day this year was mind blowing. I did enjoy the fact that the atmosphere was vibrant enough for a first timer visiting the plush Hotel. I loved the serenity of the pool outing and the surreal voices of the singers who took us to the old times with the likes of Daasebr3 DWAMENA, Kojo Antwi and Daddy Lumba. Climaxing for me was the fact they sang Asa's Jailor. A vintage classic.

Early morning's buffet breakfast is one of the best with all kinds of meals at our disposal. I'd had double servings. And enjoyed the atmosphere. It's pretty much convenient for a pass through and to have a peaceful day ready to roll.

Golden Tulip Hotel does live up to their name when it comes to excellent hospitality services.

Thankfully Evans from sales department was there to help me acquaint with the familiarities of the place. Aside that everyone of the waiters around were just so nice and homely.

Hopefully I return soon!!!

The terrible service started as soon as we walked through the door and had to put all of our luggage and handbags through metal detectors. We booked a room that was supposed to have 2 queen sized beds. They put us in a room with one bed. We went back to them and told them we needed the room we booked, it was 3 of us staying in the room. The gave us a room with 2 twin beds. They couldn't give us a cot either after not being able to give us the room we paid for. The room had a moldy smell to it. The carpet was dirty and stained. The light in the hallway blinked in an out like in a horror film. We didn't get wifi in the room and service was slow to give us towels, extra blankets etc. The food in the restaurant for the buffet wasn't good. We did find it slightly better if you ordered food at the bar fresh. The bar was honestly the best part about the place. The servers there were nice and helpful.

The standard room was spacious for my partner and I. It was neat, airy and with a balcony view of the pool side- absolutely worth the value of our money. The customer service was great and staff were helpful. My stay was even more gracious-my partner proposed with the help of the lovely team, this was organised so well. The food was good although more options can be provided to make it worthwhile.
