Quara Hotel and Restaurant has got a nice location right at the Piaza, the Godar city central square - this is nice, and You can get a great view over the life at the Piaza from the Quara balcony. The food is average - no worse, no better, and prices are also average

I went for a vacation and treated badly. The rooms were reserved four weeks earlier, and all of a sudden a holiday event came and the hotel decided to sell the rooms reserved and then gave us a very bad rooms. We were forced to change a hotel and managed to get a place for some of us. The once remained in the hotel asked to pay double the price. During our stay there was no water even.

The restaurant is part of the hotel with the same name. We came here as we were planning to go to the Four Sisters restaurant the next day. Within walking distance of the AG hotel. Decor was rather spartan. We had the spicy chickpea stew with injheera and some of us had a spicy fish goulash (tilapia) with fried fish (sometimes pretty dry). Service was very good with a very patient waitress. Food did not take long to be served and cold beer was on the table without any delay. Lots of noise from the party next door with some very happy people. Establishment was very clean. Overall a good experience.

This is a basic hotel saved by it's roof terrace overlooking the Piazza. The room was big but make sure you get one with an outside window. Several of the rooms had windows overlooking the atrium which I would not want to open for security reasons. Not overly clean . Very fancy shower but holes blocked with deposit so pressure not good but it was warm. Ongoing repairs at the hotel carried on well into the evening and started early which was not conducive to rest. Check room before you take it as bathroom could be seen into from balcony of room on higher floor. Room had balcony but chair would not go through door so balcony could not be used. TV small and badly placed but gets BBC. Electrics eccentric to say the least. Breakfast poor though eggs cooked to order. Lovely staff. Reasonable price for those on budget

This is a quiet restaurant on the outskirts of Gonda. Clean with polite staff. Lunch was thick bean sauce cooked with onion, tomato, garlic with injera. 60 Barr. This is a quiet restaurant on the outskirts of Gondar. Clean with polite staff.

I will start with the good. It has an airport shuttle. Wifi seems to work. The location is a plus, the roof terrace is nice for sunset and watching activities in the Piazza. The only plus about the first room is that is has a bed and a do not disturb sign. I see hotel got an award for tourism in 2010 but seriously how? On first sight the hotel has a nice design with a central airy atrium and rooms around walkway balconies up the inside of the atrium. It is 6 floors with no lift and reception is 2 floors up so not good for those with disabilities. Further the atrium channels every sound and at night this is particularly bad with no attempt by management to quieten persistent revellers. Our room , as with many, only had a window opening onto the walkway so room was dark and window could not be opened to let in fresh air or cool room down. We later discovered that, in fact, the window was unsecured and could easily be opened from outside. I would not stay here as a solo traveller. Inside the room was dingy. The sink pedestal had a gaping hole in it through which waste water escaped onto the user and bathroom floor. Not only did this make bath room floor slippery but the water ran into the bedroom through the large gap at the bottom of the door. Very dangerous and meant floor permanently grimy. There was also a broken glass shelf. The tap was very insecure. No health and safety and very unhygienic. The room should never have been sold. The shower was one of those multi jet things but only the overhead shower worked but at least the water was hot. The staff seemed nice but given this hotel appears to be used by a large number of tour groups breakfast did not cater to western tastes at all. In fairness our room was changed when complained. Second room bigger with outside as well as inner window. Headboard filthy though but room better quality lifting rating from terrible to poor.

Nice location in centre of town. Great layout. Friendly staff. Evidence of a recent refurb but poor quality. Furniture, towels and linen are very tired as were the bathroom fittings. Breakfast was ok. This place could do so much better.

Didn't stay at hotel, just had lunch at the restaurant. Nice view of town if you sit outside. Service was OK, food average. I had a vegetable pizza it was very strange. Prices reasonable. Other friends said their meals were OK- fish nice, shero OK. Spaghetti was pretty average. Was chosen because it could cater to a large group.

Have only been at the restaurant... and compared to the rest of Ethiopia so far this is the best western food we’ve had. When you need a break from injera - treat yourself with chicken cream soup and avocado-salad❤️.

The personnel at the hotel are great, very friendly and helpful. I chose a room with a balcony out to the piazza and did not sleep well with the noise. Other than that, this place is at the center of everything. Great place.
