Great location, friendly staff. Nice place to chill out and have a few cocktails. we stayed for 4 nights, coiple of minor downers for us were no coffee available in the room. Staff were unable to find any sachets 🤒 Also hot water was non existent for the shower. Even though it was gloriously warm while we were there I... More

Great place to stay off the beaten track but very convenient for all water based activities such as snorkelling, fishing and whale watching. Very clean and comfortable accomodation and very friendly staff. Will be back.

Open the curtains first thing in the morning and you look straight out across the sand to the sea and the palms across the water, a fabulous view. The wharf and over water dining area provide an excellent fish viewing location with a different set of fish at night to the day. About 40 minutes from the airport, get the... More

We had a fantastic 6 nights here in their 2 bedroom self contained unit which is really 1 bedroom as the others beds are in the dining/kitchen area. It is Tonga so get over the small issues. Food was beautiful and cocktails amazing. The staff make the place and wished we stayed longer. Being picked up from their wharf to... More

We were lucky enough to be hosted by the Tongan Beach Resort in July this year, as our base to film a marlin fishing trip. The heart of this resort is its amazing staff and owners - we were greeted each day by name, our preferences remembered and no request was a problem. This beautifully located resort makes you believe... More

If you are intersted in swimming with the whales the Tongan Beach Resort is the ideal base for the adventure. Room was clean and tidy with good amenities. The food was ecxcellent and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful. Traveled in late August and the whale interaction was fantastic. You must be a good snorkeler and dont forget a... We visited the Tongan beach resort just for the day as part of a tour package but really wished we had spent more time there, it is nothing fancy or very grand, but it is a picture perfect setting! we managed to have time enough for a swim followed by some lunch, I ordered the fish & chips which turned... This was our second visit to Vava'u to swim with whales and we returned to the TBR because we had enjoyed our first stay 6 years previously. We were delighted to renew contact with friendly staff who continue to be so courteous and helpful. Be prepared for living in " tongan time" and turning a 'blind eye' to the many... More

The staff at this resort were outstanding , The rooms were very nice also , The food was quite good , they also had a great dock where you would be picked up for whale snorkeling or scuba diving, our only problem was a lot of dogs barking and roosters crowing in the middle of the night, other than that... This is a lovely place, but the menu was limited as they were running out of food, we were constantly told our flights were being changed to leave the island, so over a 5 night stay we couldn't relax. We had e-mails confirming our 3 days of organised whale swims and that babysitting would be organised for our daughter to... More
