Detailed Reviews
I had a great stay at Flying Annie. First off, the staff is really funny and friendly and nice. They go out of their way to make guests feel happy and welcome. The location is great - really close to town and convenient to get to other local landmarks like Mt Palau and the Veimumuni Cave, both of which are worth visiting.
I stayed in an ensuite room, which was great for me even though I was traveling solo. It was more than big enough and the fan in the room was really nice for the sticky days and nights that can set in. The downstairs lounge area was also very comfortable and was a nice place to catch up with other guests to hear about how everyone's daily activities were going and how different everyone's experiences on the water had been. The breakfasts were always very nice, with a selection of fresh fruit and fresh cooked eggs. The women even surprised me with an egg sandwich to take with me on my whale swim boat when I had to wake up early to get going while they were still getting the other parts of breakfast ready.
Flying Annie is a great place to stay in Vava'u and I would definitely stay again if I'm lucky enough to go back.

This place is very clean and welcoming. The ladies who work there are helpful, kind and so friendly. Breakfast is provided and its really good. Really close to town so you can walk to restaurants/shops within 5 min. A great place to also stay with friends as there is a common area with lounges and a large balcony. Cannot recommend this place highly enough - everything you need in Vava'u and more.

All rooms are super clean and ladies in the hotel are so friendly and helpful! We were joining whale swim and scuba diving everyday (except Sundays) so sometimes we needed to eat breakfast earlier than normal time. But they are always flexible and prepared for us. The location is very convenient, like there is small shop just in front, or restaurants around with walking distance but a little away from busy street. I highly recommend Flying Annie Moa!!!

The ladies who greet you every morning are so wonderful and kind. The facility is super clean.
BUT I did not sleep all week: the bed is very uncomfortable, the room is hot and dogs fight outside window all night.. The breakfast had processed inexpensive food which I don't eat.
Hot water is rare.

We slept in an ensuite room when available and had a shared bathroom room when the en suite rooms were full. Both were clean and comfortable and the one with shared bath was a bit more spacious. There were two shared toilets, two showers, and two hallway sinks so we never had to wait and everything was spotless. They provided filtered drinking water in the common room. There were lovely views off the upstairs terrace. It was an easy 5-7 minute walk to several restaurants, our favorite being Aquarium and the basque tapa place on the opposite side of the road. There's a good book exchange and internet at the Tropicana Cafe. Wifi was lousy at Flying Annies, but we bought a wifi card at the Aquarium Restaurant and it was fast and reliable so worth spending money on (and a nice setting for catching up on emails and watching the sunset). Charlie, Mia and Loli were particularly helpful to us. Thank you!
