Just back from 8 nights at Heilala Holiday Lodge where we had a nice relaxing holiday. We stayed in a superior fale which was clean and well equipped with all the basic requirements, a nice hot shower, reasonably comfortable bed, fridge and jug etc. We did eat most of our meals in the restaurant and while there was not a... In April 2013 I stayed at Heilala with a few of my friends for 7 nights and it was again FANTASTIC! This is paradise with its warm, clear water, the beautiful garden and the comfortable fales. This time we knew we could bring food from NZ which makes things a lot easier as the communal kitchen is there for everyone... More

We stayed at Heilala for 5 nights in April 2013. We were lucky to have 6 days of 29C and sunshine. We stayed in a Superior fale (fridge and coffee facilities) but this is not necessary as you can use the communcal kitchen too. Fales are 30 seconds from the beach - not much to do but that's the attraction.... More

My friends and I just had a lovely and relaxing week at Heilala. The fales are great and I appreciated the mosquito nets on every window because in the evening yes they are out there to get you. The resort is very clean and well kept. The local staff is very friendly always smiling. The hammock for your front porch... More

My partner and two friends booked 5 nights at Heilala Lodge as part of an get away package. I read many reveiws on other hotels and resort in and around TOnga and this one came up tops in terms of cleanliness and facilities. So we decided to run with. Best decision ever!! In our group had a typical kiwi bloke... More

My husband and I had 7 nights (wish it was many more) in a superior fale which was very comfortable - not fancy but we didn't want that. The staff were just great, from the minute we were greeted with the real flower lei at the airport to when we were dropped off there again - very friendly and accommodating... More

Enjoyed a great family vacation here, we had eight days in a fale and everything was perfect. We Snorkelled everyday by a sandy beach, and I have never seen so many different fish just so close in to shore, actually far better than Fiji and the Cook Islands. Breakfast was included in tariff and that was a highlight too, fresh fruit,... More

I have heard only too often of mistakes made when booking accommodation on the net..... Basing ones decision on reviews and photos. However with Heilala this was not the case. The accommodation in a Tongan Fale was yes fairly basic as in room amenities but the cleanliness and friendliness of both staff and hosts Carolina and Sven were top notch.... More

I booked this holiday for a rest and a break away from everything. I stayed in a standard fale, which was comfortable and private. Karolina, Sven and their staff are friendly and welcoming. I had a great time relaxing and chilling out at the lodge and on the beach which is beautiful and was very quiet. There were also activities... More
