We moved to this hotel from a much more basic one, and ended up staying 1 night in the cheapest private double en suite room. Tonito was considerably more expensive, but the rooms were a lot nicer (with carpet!) and warmer. The downsides were that the beds were actually softer than the cheaper hotel, and the electric showers were really... More

Quite often, in the more out of the way places, you get one or the other. A decent hotel and not much choice on the cuisine front, or vice versa. Uyuni is the exception to this loose rule. The Tonito hotel is a gorgeous wee oasis on the edge of the Salar with large, clean rooms and staff that cannot... More

First off, the location is great - right next to an army base (so its safe) and on one corner of town (so its quiet). Perfectly convenient too - a short walk from everything! Well kept, colorful rooms and very pleasant common areas, and an excellent restaurant to boot! The buffet breakfast is fantastic (and part of the room rate),... More

First off, Uyuni is really average as a city and the accommodation here is ludicrously overpriced for what you get so my review takes this into account. Pros - Nice big room, clean, hot water (at least in our double room), fairly warm even at night, good blankets on the bed, nice staff, runs efficiently and best of all is... More

I cannot recommend this hotel more. The incredibly friendly staff was so helpful and kind to us when we were stuck in Uyuni for a few days due to the miners' strikes blocking the roads. The hotel had by far the best breakfast we've had in our 3 months of traveling in South America. Delicious omelettes, potatoes, pancakes, coffee, juice,... More

Stayed one night in march, 2014. Room clean and warm, shower only ok. A bit noisy, but that's south America! Food...amazing. Breakfast made my day, first good brekky in weeks! Apple pancakes, home made breads and jams, eggs, fruit, juices, Muslim. You name it! Pizza was huge and could create your own. Owners friendly and eager to please-making things off... More

We only stayed for one night in this well located hotel, but our room was very nice, characterful, spacious and clean (only slight drawback was the slightly varied hot water). The restaurant in the hotel was the standout however, serving excellent pizzas that you wouldn't expect to find in Uyuni (it also offers a good variety of American-style breakfasts). We... More

Warm and professional welcome. The owners are working in the hotel. Comfortable rooms (heating at night, warm water 24h/24h, spotless). Good food at the attached restaurant (MinuteMan). I recommend this place.

Stayed for two nights at tonito hotel and was very pleased, clean spacious rooms, beautful food the breakfast, pizza's and soup are amazing and the staff in the restaurant are very friendly. Only negatives I would say is the showers aren't that warm and the wifi was pretty hit or miss but on a whole great place to stay.

I love hotel tonito… the hotel is clean, basic and has the most unbelievably comfortable, western sized beds - Tonito is the only option if you're over 6ft! People who are worried about wi-fi and super hot showers really shouldn't bother travelling to Uyuni - its at altitude, has an extreme climate and is in the middle of nowhere in... More
