My sister joined me on a road trip. We had a great stay at the cliff house. Our waitress did a great job and the food was excellent, as good as you would find at a top rated big city restaurant. I went outside at 2am and saw a breathtaking lightning show from the viewing deck.

For a low cost, nastalgic motel that meets the basic needs of a traveling nature/ cultural enthusiast, this is the place. It is within walking distance to eating establishments, historical sites, and a city park with the Buffalo River flowing on one side. The proprietors were very friendly and informative regarding the area.
My husband and I occupied a room that was clean, comfortable and decorated in 1940's style furniture and accessories ( including hobnail bedspreads). There was a small color TV(several channels available), comfortable chairs, sturdy metal rack for hanging clothes, and a small bathroom with a shower.
Our room was next to the street and my husband remarked that he heard traffic during the night. For our next trip, we will request a room further from the road.
A surprise find and great treat for us!

We stayed at the Cliff House Inn. The scenery and deck was an awesome experience. The room was smelly and had a hard time sleeping at night. Every breathe was a struggle for my nose. The stink came from the bathroom and carpets. The bed was clean though. Not sure if I would pay $80-$100 for that, maybe $60.

The musty smell in the rooms is overpowering. The mattresses feel as though they are 20 years old. There were dead bugs and grit behind the beds and in the corners. They have a problem with carpenter ants which we saw both on the deck and in our bathroom. Mold. Rust. Curtains that have likely been hanging on the door and window for decades. Poor lighting. An ancient window air conditioning unit that was exceptionally loud even at its lowest setting. Outdoor walkways were filthy and flower beds haven't seen any attention for years. The owners are nice but are clearly ready to retire. We can't review the restaurant as it was closed during our visit.

Horrible. Totally rude owner. Was disrespectful to me when I checked in, basically yelling at me to hurry up and register. I left my AirPods at the room and my wife called the owner to see if he could check. The guy was rude to her as well. Horrible service. When I called to ask why he was rude to my wife he started yelling at me. Unacceptable. Plus, the bathroom had bugs crawling all over the sink. Don’t bother with this place. Sleep in your car instead. Cliff house inn, more like Crap House Inn.

I reviewed this place last year about having to pay for water and how there rooms are not worth $100 a night. They did NOT ask there guests to conserve water in there rooms, friends and family stayed here so thats not true but instead had a sign in the restroom of the lobby too flush toilet everyother time. I hope this place doesnt continue to lie too the Bikers,Tourist about having to pay for water. There are 3 different water sources...Aquifer drying up, is NOT one of them. Police Chief Water Board President..haha. No worries now right? Instead it will be easier to contact the State. Bull Shoals water system is in place..(except for a few line breaks) Remember were drinking the same water as the Dinosaurs. For all the Tourist I would recommend The Hub in Marble Falls for a place too stay and better food (you can sit outside) because there are so many more views in Arkansas( snap a picture at Cliff) than what is at Cliff House. Low Gap Cafe for Excellent Food and atmosphere the only place with a Chef. Awesome Sunday Brunch and you can sit outside. Blue Mountain Bakery in Jasper for Best breakfest and Muffins. Enjoy!

The owners were extremely nice and the view fantastic. The rooms were for sleeping only. Very small, but rustic. The carpet in our room was stained and worn. Bathroom very tiny. No electric plugs for hairdryer. Food in the restaurant was very good. The view from the porch was great. All in all not a bad place, but not sure it was worth the price.

This review is for the Inn only not the cabins or the restaurant. I never considered my self high maintenance at all, and certainly was willing to pay $100 for a suite however the room we had ( room number 1 which was the suite ) although clean was so very old that when we tried to open the door just to enter the room the door itself hung up on the swollen floors so that you could open it just wide enough to squeeze in. A definite fire Hazzard. We went in thinking OK you knew it would be rustic when you came but not to this extent. We looked around for the thermostat as it was a rainy chilly day only to find an electric fireplace that was plugged in a 4 way outlet that was so overloaded that it kept throwing the breaker so we continued to look for another source of heat and low and behold it was a 2 burner propane heater . I have asthma and even the slightest smell of propane would have sent me into an attack. This should be told to winter guest. At this point we could only hope to get our money back. We asked and received a $60 refund which was better than nothing since there was no way I could have stayed. Again this does not speak to the restaurant or cabins but in my opinion this room especially during the cooler months is a safety Hazzard

We stayed at Gordon's motel on memorial day this September with a group of friends. The owner was very friendly and advised us on activities in the area, so we went to the Bluegrass festival in Jasper! The rooms are very clean and comfortable, regarding to the price we paid!
I will definitly recommend Gordon's motel if you are looking for a cheap room!

The road to get here is very windy. Parking is very limited. We had to wait for a car to pull out to get a spot to park. The view wasn't that great. I can't really recommend the restaurant or inn. Not worth the stop.
