We were again at the Compasses (the second time) and stayed for two days. It was like the first time. A very warm welcome, very friendly and helpful staff and a beatiful room. The Compasses is absolutely dog friendly. We enjoyed the food, especially the rich breakfast and the local ciders and ales.

Stayed at the compass Inn last night with my partner as we attended a wedding at Leez priory and it was so good I had to write a review straight away, charming location, beautifully kept, pretty flowers around the the pub & separate hotel rooms we're gorgeous, the room we stayed in was very very nice! Modern rustic chic interior,... More

Me and my family spent a night here at this lovely country pub hotel as we had a family wedding at the leezy prior hotel The rooms were modern and spotlessly clean. Staff were amazing so friendly and helpful could not do enough for you. Would definitely stay and recommed this hotel. Five star.

Stopped here for lunch and tried the well conceived huffers and some decent real ale. A charming old school pub and busy, despite being a bit out of the way. Would definitely be a pleasant place to spend more time.

This is a fantastic country pub with perfectly kept Real Ales and very filling Huffers (Sandwiches). I had the Bacon, Cheese and Tomato Huffer which was filling and tasty. Great place for families and ending up there after a walk.

We had a great stay here recently - lovely weather, lush green beer garden, fab local beers. The B&B annex is very modern, comfortable and cosy, and the adjacent pub exactly what you'd hope a quintessential English country pub would be. We stayed with our two year old daughter - cot bed supplied - and will definitely be back! Thanks!

This is a great pub, very much how pubs should be, with oldy woldy charm, full of locals and interesting people right through the week. The selection of beers and ciders are brilliant and they change regularly enough even for weekly visitors. Dogs are welcome and a regular sight, there's darts and a piano, all very accessable if you want... More

This pub is old school. It is not beige. It is not magnolia. It feels like it has not been touched for more than 50 years in a good way. They serve proper old fashioned food, but done just right. There is no fosters or similar rubbish on tap. Its real ale and quality beers. Its full of charm and... More

I have been coming to this pub for years and never thought of writing a review. This is one of the last few proper pubs with real beer and food, no plastic music, TV's or game machines. The best entertainment you'll get is the chatter and friendly banter and hub bub of real people convening for a convivial pint and/or... More
