We were en route to Memphis and decided to stay at this interesting and well-recommended Edwardian house. The building is impressive and attractive and we were welcomed warmly by Joel and Amber and their three friendly dogs. Our room was spacious and light, well furnished and with a well appointed if somewhat small bathroom. Breakfast was very well prepared and served with style. Joel and Amber were very hospitable and this establishment really deserves better. The town of Helena is rather sad and declining and the surrounds are a little depressing. We like to walk and found the pavements pretty rough. This is not the fault of the Edwardian Inn which stands out like a diamond in the rough

Beautiful and historic bed and breakfast. Owners were extremely kind and friendly. I felt as if I was at home. Having 3 pups running around really made it feel like home. I highly recommend the Edwardian Inn!

We were traveling through Arkansas and stopped in Helena-West Helena without reservations. We were fortunate enough to find an available room at this beautiful old home turned B& B. We stayed in a second floor room, beautifully redone, with a sitting area, as well as bathroom and bedroom. The bed was comfortable, the bed and bath linens were delightful. This would have been a 5 star experience, except for details. The large front semi-circle front porch desperately needed to be hosed down. It was late April and Christmas decor was still out! Come on, even Easter is past. Put out some spring items! Indoors as well. The owners are great people, and we had supper at their downtown historic district restaurant. Food there was very good, with nice wait staff. Breakfast at the B& B was a nice continental serve-yourself affair.

Oh Lenette... Thanks for your review, but the two small pots you mentioned on the front porch were not Christmas decorations. I guess you associate red flowers with Christmas. We do not. As for the porch, I agree, it was in need of a wash down but we had just finished having horrible weather and the dirt and dust from all the farm land, and magnolia leaves from the huge trees on the property had been deposited there by the high winds and rain. Really???

If you are looking for an owner to give you a lecture after several hours of hectic travel then this is the place for you. After several hours of flight delays I finally landed in Memphis at 11 PM. It was an insane travel day that was accompanied by a personal tragedy that I dealt with during the brief moments we were allowed to use our phones while either in the airport or waiting on the tarmac. I had a voicemail from the Edwardian Inn when I landed and I called them to apologize and inform them of my delays. I would have called earlier had I been able to (and were I able to call from the air). When I arrived at the hotel the owner grumpily answered and let me in. He told me that I was rude for getting there so late and that he wished he hadn’t let me in. No inquiries about the cause for my delay. No acknowledgment that I called as soon as I landed. No curiosity as to what may have caused such an insane travel delay. Rather, a scathing lecture. What a way to end the day. Also, the beds are terribly uncomfortable and the soap dispensers in the shower don’t work. They also don’t have bar soap in the bathroom. Perhaps the owners have a good lecture about how it’s rude to not bring your own soap. Bed and Breakfasts are supposed to have a personal touch. This one comes with that. It’s just a very rude personal touch.

Why don’t you mention that you arrived at 2AM without ever providing us an ETA as required and stated on your reservation acknowledgement? Check-in as stated on your reservation is between 3pm and 6PM. If you plan to arrive after that, you are required to make us aware. A 2AM check-in at any Bed and Breakfast is unacceptable without notice. We even called to get an ETA which you acknowledged that you didn’t even feel the need to respond to until 1:00AM. It’s not our responsibility to wait up all night wondering if you will be a no-show. It’s common courtesy for YOU to make us aware of YOUR travel delays. As for the soap, it was in the bathroom, but you obviously have never experienced quality products and were looking for an old fashioned bar soap. Your personal responsibility is non existent.
