Norma Jeans is a beautiful place and everything you read about the lovely staff is true. BUT .... they are outrageously expensive for what they provide. I thought i had booked dinner, bed and breakfast for two for one night for US$185, but instead got charged $22x2 for dinner. When I challenged this I was told that as 'an outsider' i had to pay more. Well stuff you Norma Jeans. Calling me an outsider and applying penal pricing is no way to win friends or encourage return visits. Four years ago it cost me US$30 for a night - why the outrageous overcharging? Places like Norma Jeans are necessary for Zim. But they will fail if they treat outsiders this way. Zimbabwe is already difficult enough to travel: no electricity, access to money problems, lack of fuel etcetera. And then to be called an outsider. Unhappy,.…
We stayed at Norma Jeanne's for two night whilst visiting Zimbabwe recently. Our accommodation with clean and spacious, "old style", set in beautiful gardens. The view over the lake was stunning. It is a beautiful area. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. A good choice to stay for visiting the Great Zimbabwe ruins.
I stayed here for one night in May, as part of a tour. My room was simple and clean. There was no wifi in the room, which was disappointing, but wifi was available in one of the lounge areas. The property was very lovely, with gardens, fruit trees and beautiful views of a nearby lake. My room did not have a view, although others did. Service at dinner and breakfast was attentive. This is a good location from which to visit Great Zimbabwe.
We really enjoyed the stay at Norma Jean's Lakeview Resort. The breakfast was tasty and the prices reasonable. The surrounding with the beautiful gardens were just marvellous. You can enjoy dinner or a glas of wine while having a view of the lake. If you are planning to visit great zimbabwe this is definitely a great place to spend the night. Only a few minutes drive away from the Great Zimbabwe Ruins.
We made use of Norma Jeane's as our overnight stop after visiting Great Zimbabwe. The camping facilities are first class with excellent ablutions. Camp sites are immaculately clean with great view overlooking Lake Kyle (Lake Mutirikwi). The restaurant also over great dinner and breakfast options.
