Beautiful spacious exquisite rooms. The architecture is amazing, looks just like the great Zimbabwe monument. The wifi is good and the breakfast buffet is excellent. Had a wonderful stay, keep up the great work.

This is like an ancient village with wonderful very spacious bungalows African village style but with all the comfort of modern hotels. Spacious bedroom with sitting area. Enormous bathroom with two sinks, bath and separate shower. Food is good though not excellent. Lovely place to relax for a weekend. Service is excellent and with a smile

In this area it is the only lodge that is still in good condition although there are a few things the lodge could do especially in the rooms. The rooms looked really tired and could do with changing the carpets and the curtains. The rooms were very dark and could do with newer and lighter curtains. Food was good but...

Visited April 2013, had so much fun, i was back for more in May. The lodges are built incorporating the surrounding rocks, creating very intriguing designs. The rooms are clean and tidy and the African theme is potrayed throughout. The best part of the trip was the staff. Very accommodating and helpful. Did their best to make sure we were...

The Lodge at the Ancient City is definitely one of the better hotels in the Masvingo area. I stayed here on business for two nights in May and had a pleasant stay. At the time, we were the only guests and this make our stay even more peaceful. The lodge is set deep within the countryside just outside of Masvingo....

The hotel is modelled around the great zimbabwe theme, and the execution is impressive. Rooms are spacious, well designed and appointed. The restaurant was however a major letdown., the menu is overpriced and food bland. The establishment needs to invest in a more capable chef. I would strongly recommend this to anyone seeking an authentic zimbabwean theme in a serene...

The lodges are excellent with really comfy double beds and excellent bathrooms, the whole complex reflects the architecture of Great Zimbabwe across the valley. The pool was closed for maintenance on our visit. The catering was poor compared to other places in Zim we had eaten, a T-bone steak was served without a t-bone in it and turned out to...

This is a lovely lodge. It has only 20 chalets so is perfect if you like a quieter place to stay. The chalets are beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable. The mosaic on the floor is fantastic and the decorations superb - the stone work around the whole lodge is designed to look like a small-scale Great Zimbabwe. It is a...

The Lodge at the Ancient City was undoubtedly designed and built with love and attention to detail. It is a very attractive venue, well situated and cleverly designed to mimic the nearby ruins. The rooms are massive and comfortable but do require a bit of TLC. The staff are very friendly and try hard. My only gripe is about the...

“We had 2 family rooms which as about twice what we needed. the family rooms have a separate area with full size bunks, and 2 double beds in the main room. there is no door between, just a curtain, but if privacy is not a priority you could easily accommodate a family of 4 or 5 in one room (they are actually chalets), and that would make it much cheaper.”
