Hilltop camp is situated on a hilltop as the name implies with wonderful views of the surroundings below. The cottages were good & nicely equipped if one was self catering. The hotel & reserve is poorly managed with no idea about customer relations from the entrance gate to the camp. The food pretty average. The most irritating & embarrassing thing... More

We stayed overnight in a chalet so that we could go on the sunset and sunrise drives. Accommodation was good. We had an evening meal and breakfast in the lodge. The food was filling and adequate. As stated in other reviews, the welcoming staff do not make a very positive impression.

We spent two days and nights here at the end of July 2016. The reception staff was not welcoming and seemed to be rather sullen and “going through the motions”. The camp is situated, as the name suggests, on a high peak overlooking the reserve. Unfortunately, it was raining and misty on the two days we were there, so we... More

Great stay in this amazing game Park - Hluhluwe. Park was very dry with drought Amazing close encounters with all wold animals. Including an abundance of White rhino. Hilltop resort is good. Accommodation is well appointed with everything one could ask for. We stayed in unit 49 - well recommended. Completely private. Split over three levels with beautiful open views.... More

Hilltop camp chalets were large and comfortable. There's monkeys running around every where. We watched the zebra and buffalo drinking just below us while having breakfast. I missed the leopard out of the big 5 but only by just. An amazing amazing trip of a lifetime.

What an awesome 2 days we had. Phenomenal game viewing (big 5 in a single day). Great facilities, clean rooms, well equipped for self catering, amazing buffet breakfast. Shop VERY basic but restaurant and bar provide great meals, even a cappuccino take away for early game drive.

The Lodge is poorly managed. It's as if management and the staff have no point of reference as to what local (let alone international) tourists expect. They should be sent to a private game lodge for insights as to what is expected. Frankly even an experience at The Kruger Park would assist with training. The as-advertised well stocked shop is... On our drive into the reserve we were treated to close-up views of white rhino, buffalo, elephant and Nyala in abundance. For the wildlife alone, I would rate this reserve as 5 star. We have been to numerous game reserves in South Africa and have never been this close to white rhino. I sincerely hope the park takes special care... More

Recently spent a few days at this Hilltop Camp - and it was a wonderful experience! The room was huge, with vast ceilings, numerous outlets for charging needs, desk area to work, couches with a large television, comfortable bed, open deck with a tremendous valley view. Great restaurant for awesome breakfast buffets and delicious dinners - with nightly entertainment dancing... More

Lovely stay at Hilltop Camp. Amazing views. Hotel was clean and food was good. If you are going on an organized game drive take note of sunrise and sunset times, especially during winter. We left at 17:00 and the sun sets at about 17:30 - not much daylight. We had better sightings on a self drive.
