The rondavels at the Hilltop Camp were seemingly identical to those I had stayed in in the 1970's. Nothing had been modernised; they were dark, musty and cramped, yet the prices were the highest during our 4-Park visit to Natal. The restaurant was pleasant enough and the views from the dining room were great. The road infrastructure had been much... More

We reserved the self catering twin room. It was lovely! Spectacular views, very clean, very comfortable. Make sure you lock all windows and doors, even the screened windows, as the little monkeys can scamper through, open the big sliders, and then all the monkeys have access to your room. The cabin next door learned the hard way. Monkeys had quite... More

Great location overlooking Hluhluwe hills. We saw rhino from rondavel no. 37. Free wi fi in bar area . Gorgeous sitting outside enjoying the vista. Dinners r all buffet.. great kudu steak. Good selection. Gorgeous African style rooms serviced daily. Friendly staff. Full bar. Breakfadt included.. good value. Large shop. One disappointment was lack of educational info on the park.... We visited this great park and stayed at the hilltop camp. The camp is nicely located with splendid views. The breakfasts which we had included were awesome. Unfortunately the chalet we had number 11 did not had any views as the tress blocked them. The toilet blocked up on our first day but was sorted out quickly once reported. The... More

We rented a 2- bed chalet for one night here and were pleasantly surprised with it. Lovely setting, very clean and spacious and well organised though the staff at the front desk aren't the friendliest. The beds were very comfortable, there's a kettle, TV, extra blankets for the winter nights, and small private patio area. Have already planned our next... More

Hilltop camp is situated on a hilltop as the name implies with wonderful views of the surroundings below. The cottages were good & nicely equipped if one was self catering. The hotel & reserve is poorly managed with no idea about customer relations from the entrance gate to the camp. The food pretty average. The most irritating & embarrassing thing... More

We stayed overnight in a chalet so that we could go on the sunset and sunrise drives. Accommodation was good. We had an evening meal and breakfast in the lodge. The food was filling and adequate. As stated in other reviews, the welcoming staff do not make a very positive impression.

We spent two days and nights here at the end of July 2016. The reception staff was not welcoming and seemed to be rather sullen and “going through the motions”. The camp is situated, as the name suggests, on a high peak overlooking the reserve. Unfortunately, it was raining and misty on the two days we were there, so we... More

Great stay in this amazing game Park - Hluhluwe. Park was very dry with drought Amazing close encounters with all wold animals. Including an abundance of White rhino. Hilltop resort is good. Accommodation is well appointed with everything one could ask for. We stayed in unit 49 - well recommended. Completely private. Split over three levels with beautiful open views.... More

Hilltop camp chalets were large and comfortable. There's monkeys running around every where. We watched the zebra and buffalo drinking just below us while having breakfast. I missed the leopard out of the big 5 but only by just. An amazing amazing trip of a lifetime.
