My husband and I traveled to Botswana and S. Africa, visiting 3 camps in total over a 2 week holiday in August 2015. This was the second camp we stayed at, for a total of 3 nights. PROs: *Authentic location with no paved roads/fly-in/out. Reading some past reviews I thought I should mention that if you want a "resort type"...

I have been traveling and leading safari tours in Africa almost for 15 years. For Okavango, this is the only place that I have choosen. It has a real relaxing atmosphere, so friendly staff. It’s like my home in Africa. One of the most exciting happenings here is to listen to the voices of a hippo family all night long...

Malupa Lodge was the last stop of a 16-day journey that started in Cape Town, so we had already stayed at several other hotels and lodges along the way. This one may have been the best. From the minute we landed on the airstrip until the last good-by, we felt welcome and cared for. The hospitality, ambience, accommodations, food and...

We went here after 2 weeks of visiting lodges in South Africa and had expectations and hopes that Mapula and the Delta would be a highlight of our trip. We are experienced safari goers and have stayed at a wide range of lodges and camps. Mapula was beyond our expectations but in the wrong direction. With the remote location we...

I stayed at Mapula Lodge as part of a group of 4 just two+ weeks ago and unfortunately it was just too cold for this type of open accommodation at this time of year. The flight in was lovely, the people were caring and charming, the food was good, but the overall experience was unfortunately miserable. The huts have one...

The royal feeling of the exclusivity of this holiday began with the chartered flight we took from Maun airport, with just the two of us, me and my hubby and of course the pilot. We landed at the xarakai air strip in the delta, from where they took us to the lodge on a land cruiser. We were lucky to...

Great hospitality from Maun to lodge and what a serene setting in rustic style. Guide Mario and Tracker Carl could show all the game and game of my life a hunting leopard. Being a private area, the guide go extra mile to take you near the game for a better viewing. Ambience, food, hospitality was superb and I with family...

From the moment I arrived, guide, Albert, and tracker, Mike, made me feel at home. Along with the rest of the team, their dedication and love for what they do is inspiring. I was lucky enough to travel on my birthday, and finding this out, the ladies in the kitchen surprised me with a delicious birthday cake after dinner, complete...

Mid August, 2014, 10 of us flew to Mapula Lodge. Actually, we flew to the air strip and limped to Mapula Lodge. Two game viewers, old Land Rovers, transported us to the lodge, one of them experiencing a puncture on the way and then crossing the pole bridge to get to the lodge. The setting is superb, with gazebo looking...
