Remote leopard viewing enclave on the western floodplains of the Okavango.Tubu Tree lies on the remote Hunda Island, the largest area of permanently dry land in this region of the Okavango Delta. As its name implies, it lies in the dappled shade of large trees, its raised dining and lounge, pool and open bar areas almost within the canopy of a marula tree and looking out over a grassy floodplain. The whole camp is connected by raised wooden boardwalks so that one can literally wander amongst the leaves.HighlightsTubu Tree’s location and easy access to both water and dry-land habitats, ranging from dry Kalahari sandveld to mopane and riverine forest edging on permanent waterways, ensures varied and spectacular game viewing. There are good concentrations of zebra and wildebeest on the floodplains as well as elephant, red lechwe, tsessebe and giraffe. Leopard and spotted hyaena viewing is particularly good. 8 Tents (including 1 Family Tent): Raised on wooden platforms, en-suite bathrooms; outdoor shower; private front deckExperiences: Day and night game drivesBoating and mokoro excursions (seasonal) Catch-and-release fishing (seasonal) Seasonal hide for sleep-outs or game viewing

This is the gem of the Okavango delta. it is located in the Jao reserve that is a private concession. The lodge is the definition of exclusivity in a wild way. we had to adjust to more basic habits rather than absolute luxury. the no waste of water/electricity is a necessity

We stayed for 3 nights at Tubu Tree Camp at the very end of December and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Southern Africa. Fantastic accommodations - both our room and the common areas - and truly amazing wildlife. We had visited Lion Sands adjacent to Kruger before

Dear WolfeStreetTravelcom, Thank you for the wonderful review, we thrilled to see how much you enjoyed your stay with us as well as the amazing sightings you had in the Jao Reserve. Wildlife seen around Tubu Tree includes elephant, lion, Burchell's zebra, red lechwe, southern giraffe, tsessebe, and blue wildebeest on the floodplains. Kudu, impala, bushbuck and leopard are also seen in the forested areas. The variety of birdlife is impressive, with dry-land species seen on the larger islands and a multitude of wetland birds seen on the floodplains and waterways. Bush regards Wilderness Safaris
