I've stayed at elephant sands a couple times now and it's always amazing! The last time I stayed there were 20-25 elephants at the watering hole and it was simply amazing! The staff and owners are very friendly and welcoming!

This place doesn't disappoint, beautiful safari tents to sleep in, wild elephants coming to the waterhole, what more could you ask for? Sat watching elephants for hours, i think they were just as fascinated by us as we were by them. I was stunned at how quiet 40 male elephants can be! Meals were very good here as well. Sunset... The big attraction here are the elephants which march out of the bush to drink at the waterhole. You get very, very close to them. The camp itself seems still to be under construction, and activities such as game walks seem to be haphazard. We had booked a 'self-catering chalet overlooking the waterhole' only to arrive and find that there... More

I was impressed by this family run lodge. Wild animals roaming freely without fences, animals playing on mud a few metres away from the pool area. Friendly staff and helpful when you need a tow :-). WARNING!!!Only 4X4 self drive to the park. My 4X2 sank in the sand and had to be towed by a tractor back to firmer... More

Our first trip to Botswana and our first night at Elephant Sands what an incredible introduction - we sat mesmerised watching elephants drinking while watching the sun go down over the African bush veld... a delicious meal served in the boma around the water hole elephants trumpeting - it was a goose bump moment. Wonderful staff and owners who were... More

It is hard to write a review when the nature experience offered and the state of the facilities do not match up. There are many chalets surrounding the watering hole where we were treated to elephant sightings all afternoon and late into the night, so one does not feel like you are in the wild... a little disappointing to be... We very much enjoyed our stay at Elephant Sands, communing with the big fellas. The accommodation is a bit spartan, but the food was to die for. The writer is a vegetarian and the veggies were delicious. Many thanks.

Warm welcome on arrival. Wonderful ellie experience, wall to wall elephants and up close. Can get very busy as overlanders tend to stop here. Breakfast and dinner can be crowded and take a while. The food is good and the staff are friendly. The general feel is that things are a bit laid-back and time is not too important so... More

If you are really into seeing elephants up close, this place can't be beat. They will be a few arms length away from you at times, and you will get to watch them for as long as you want. However, this place had a few serious drawbacks, and if you stay here, you MUST ask for a newer tented unit... More

Being the third time that we visited Elephant Sands, we were once again amazed by the sight of all the elephants coming and going throughout the day and night. We stayed in the new tents this time and found it very comfortable, clean and nice to stay in. Like before, the beds were comfortable and linen nice and clean. We... More
