We stayed here as part of a group for three nights with the express purpose of seeing Angel Falls. The group had been travelling through the top end of South America for over two weeks and this was an oasis in the middle of no where and it didn't disappoint. The staff were fabulous and although English was not their first language we had no problem communicating. Every need was met and all of the staff were extremely helpful and wanting to please. Given the current economic environment in Venezuela it was sad to see that business was not as good as it should be. I would encourage everyone to stay here. The rooms are delightful, well decorated and have everything you need. The trip to Angel Falls was something that will stay with me forever. A true oasis in the wilderness.

We stayed for 2 nights 3 days on last minute trip during our travels in Venezuela with the hopes for additional stay as soon as we arrived- though unfortunately all rooms were sold out with the upcoming carnival holidays in LATAM. In line with the rest of the reviews below, Wakü lodge met it’s reputation along with the price points on all levels: service; lodging & facility qualities. Everything we needed were provided (ie. Mosquito repellent & sun block) with GM and staff speaking great English! Unfortunately, the river tide was too low for a visit to Angel falls but our excursions to Sapo Salto with famous indigenous chief, Muerte & a bike/ river boat trip to the Blue pond was more than perfect! Although traveling from Asia, we avoided booking via 3rd party travel agents as handling charges were exorbitant (tho surely less hassle). Instead, we opted to fly on Laser airlines from Caracas to Puerto Ordaz (daily route available at 6:30am) which gave us 2 hours before the flight to Canaima (on Transmundo airline arranged exclusively by Waku) where we were greeted by the staff and from then onwards, we didn’t need to worry about logistics. There is, however, a non-daily direct flight from CCS to Canaima (much easier logistically). Return leg was slightly more tricky logistically as required one night layover in Puerto Ordaz at Waipa hotel (quaint, clean & economical- 5 min taxi ride). Laser airline flew the following morning at 8:30am tho we weren’t notified of the extra airport duty in Puerto Ordaz (paid only in local currency) so a bit of last minute panic (bolívares extremely hard to buy!). All in all, fantastic stay at Waku and highly recommend the trip to anyone traveling into Latin America! Kudos to Waku team.

It was fantastic beginning to end. They helped us managed the air and ground transportation, as well as the excursions. We were welcome by the best staff I have ever seen in my many trips around the globe, they were taking care of every single detail to make ours an unforgettable stay. Food was abundant and succulent, specially the soups. The excursion around the Canaima lagoon was great and we had the company of El Chaman Muerte, a legend in the indigenous reservation. We also went to Angel Falls and spend the night at the camp; the ride in the curiara was a great experience as the level of the river was low, so the crew of 5 (taking care of 6 pax) maneuver with great expertise to overcome the low areas and the currents. The crew set up the camp where we had a power generator, hammocks, blankets, hot food cooked by the crew, showers and toilettes. Everything worked as planned A 75 minutes walk took us to a small lagoon at the base of Angel Falls, where we took great pictures and enjoyed the morning. The return was made easy by the crew as they dismantle the camp and took us back to the lodge. Kudos to the boat crew for giving us the gift of enjoying Angel Falls. The lodge has plenty of beautiful spaces where you can relax and enjoy mother nature, with beautiful look ate smaller waterfalls, local fauna (toucans, parrots, etc.) and starry sky as I have not seen before. Rooms were ample, well sized, and the bathroom had all the amenities. All in all, I was shocked by what we saw, a beautiful lodge in the heart of the Venezuelan jungle, with infrastructure and service in par with great hotels. Highly recommended.

My family and I planned a trip to Angel Falls (the highest waterfall in the world - 3000 ft. to be exact). Everyone we knew that made that trip in the past said that Waku was the absolute place to stay, and they weren´t wrong! the place is an absolute dream, we were received with welcome cocktails, the food was amazing, the scenery to die for and if you´re an animal lover the place is filled with all kinds of birds and other small animals (all really friendly- I´d even risk to say they{re kid friendly). They took us on a tour on a small speed boat (called curiara) for over an hour, we took a medium level hike up to a viewpoint where you can see the Falls fully. Afterwards, we took a slightly shorter walk to the pond that´s right under the waterfall (I recommend water resistant clothes and shoes, if you go for a swim in the pond wear leggins and a swimsuit under it for max comfort... bringing towels or changing there is kind of a drag... so just get into it and wear your wet clothes on the hike back to the campsite). The room is
