My single room was fairly dirty, walls not painted for a long time and miniature bathroom. First night I stayed there was no water except for one hour from 8:30 to 9:30 in the evening. A very old AC was set in low on the wall and very noisy, even the ear plugs could not keep the noise down. Very hard bed, no safe and broken tiles on the floor. The second night, two weeks later, and differemt room was sligtly more bearable. I stayed there because it was part of tour. Would not recomend this place.
Hotel La Floresta is walking distance to the Metro which makes it a good place to stay - out of the city but easy access. There are also restaurants on the same block and just around the corner which is good for dinner when it is sensible to not stray too far from the hotel. The Hotel is also very secure with the gate being locked after dark. The room was adequate and always had hot water. The bed could have been more comfortable. The Hotel did not provide breakfast but a small cafe on the front of the hotel could provide a hot cooked breakfast.
The hotel is run down and our room stunk of vomit/cheesy feet. The road outside is very noisy and the slat windows do nothing to keep the noise out. Location is good and close to metro and good restaurants and shopping. Lady on check in was very rude and didn't appear to care about anything. Overall, a pretty poor place and I'd never stay again or recommend anyone else too.
Pretty much the only good thing about this place is its location in Altamira. The hotel itself is old. The room we got had old-school slanting window panes which do not fully close properly. As a result, you can hear noise from the street, even up on the 9th floor. Room TV is small, but there are many channels (mostly Spanish) with cable TV. Location wise is great, just south of Altamira subway which is considered a safer area in Caracas (relative to other areas, but we still made sure to stick indoors at night). Within walking distance, there is a supermarket about 3 blocks west and the terminal for Expresos Ejecutivos, a premium bus company which services other cities in Venezuela. It is more expensive, but definitely nicer buses and safer. Their operations is like an airline, with proper checked baggage counters and ticket confirmations. From my experience, we found other passengers who appear more affluent and able to speak some English.…
Basic hotel in one of Caracas's best districts - Altamira. If you are lucky to get a room facing the park, it is quite ok for an overnight. Make sure to get one of the newer rooms on the top levels.
