My office was very close to the Mariott hotel, less than a quarter mile so I walked the distance. However, I was advised by company and hotel staff to avoid walking around even during the day. Especially if you are not Latin American looking you should avoid walking alone with for example a computer bag. At night, you are asking, no , begging to get robbed.
