Considering the harsh situation in which they are the hotel meets most needs. It surely safe, clean with sage very accesible transportation. The service is good. The internet is spotty but when it works the speeds are reasonable. A little run down for an intercontinental property but they are doing great vs. their competition at first look.
A unique hotel, with a central location in the capital of Venezuela. when the lounge worked it where, one of my favorite spots in Caracas to enjoy my coffee, while working. even thoe the beverage is very standard, im quite impressed, what the chef manege to cook with very few ingredient. despite the situation of this beautiful country, Venezuela still has very dedicated people. and i thing its very important to say this. with more the 300 nights in property, there's no reason why not recommend this hotel.
Once you are visiting Caracas and want to be sure about choosing the right place the shortest way is to the Hotel Intercontinental. Good and protected location and the personell is kind and correct. Bed is comfortable and a great view when you are in the eight or ninth floor. Swimming pool outside and in and outside restaurant. At reception be sure to check and present your booking with prices because it might not show on the computer immediately up.
We had to stay in Caracas from 6th to 8th March 2019, because my wife needed to practice a medical procedure on her thyroid, and we were travelling with our medical insurance from the Venezuelan oil state company, they accommodated us at the InterContinental Tamanaco in Caracas, we had to take with us my mother in law because of our new born child, he is 2 months old, so we needed her to take care of him on the meanwhile when we were at the medical center in La Floresta, so 4 travelers so far, at the help desk really helpful people, this guy Jose Aguilera was really helpful even the night before our stay begun, i talked to him on the phone just to confirm the room and he was really kind and reliable, everything he told us by the phone about the facilities it was exactly as he described it, he even solved a problem we had with the room we selected previously so my mother in law could stay with us. We arrived driving on my car, they have a huge parking lot, and it´s really safe to park your car in there if you are a guest you just have to pay 20000 bs/day that was like 4,5 dollars/day, the room included the not only the breakfasts but dinners too, and believe me with those breakfasts you won´t even need a lunch i can guarantee you that for sure. Breakfasts they are from 6:30 to 10:30 at floor 8th, really pleasant place remind me of the best western hotels, for your evening time meal you can go to the terrace level, kind of like a basement to me because is located below the lobby but it´s actually the pool level, really nice place but if with a stroller or wheel chair no ramps to get to the tables once you get out of the elevators, actually it was the only place of the hotel we had to take our stroller over the stairs, the guys at the restaurant the were so helpful and kind the always helped us to get the stroller through the 4 steps stair, the dinner it was delicious and really generous. The room it was really nice, number 795 at 7th floor, but beware if travelling with infants and using a microwave sterilizer just like we did, because no microwaves in the rooms so you have to take it to the 8th floor so the put it in the microwave for 2 minutes, the were always very receptive and kind with me when doing so, but plan your moves because it´s only available from 6:30 to 9:00 pm (the microwave i mean), the air conditioner of the room i believe it was not working well, so humid and low refrigeration, i´m a cold room lover myself but i did not call the help desk to solve it for me just because i made an exception for my 2 months old boy, he can´t be on such a cold air conditioning, and for the closure on our final night at Caracas we had a power outage, and the hotel was running on a power plant but the room air conditioner it went totally useless because when the power outage finished and the hotel switched from power plant to electricity service again, it was about midnight, the air conditioner turned in to a simple blower, just fan not even the low cold we had the night before, i wont complaint about that because the power shortage it´s not hotel's fault, also no ice maker machines on the floors, at least not on the 7th; if you are planing to move around the nearby areas i recommend to leave your car at the hotel and use a taxi service from The Tolon Mall in Las Mercedes they are inexpensive and really nice cars and drivers. The hotel is amazingly huge and i believe they are not using the whole of it, maybe for maintenance operations, if you´re a planing to travel to Caracas so please don´t hesitate at booking your stay at the InterContinental Tamanaco Caracas.…
