We stayed here as part of a small group trip. It is a fun and quirky place to stay with helpful staff and nice rooms. We only had breakfast here but it was also very nice. A nice sight was the resident hummingbird in the tree outside our room! I would have no hesitation in recommending this place to other... More

Not worth the extra money. "Hot" water is unreliable at best, bathroom was not clean and staff were unpleasant. If you insist on going here, be sure to count with them when you pay as I've now heard from 2 other travellers they are pulling the "you didn't count it correctly and still owe us" scam. At first they told... More

We arrived in the pouring rain and were shown to our room which was just across the courtyard and very comfortable. The best shower yet in this country with lots of hot water and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was a bit slow and we had some language difficulties but when we finally ordered it was delicious and plentiful.... More

I visited Merida as part of 2week trip to Venezuela and I stayed at the posada Casa Sol. The posada was just magnificent. The patios were so beautiful decorated and the rooms were spacious and cleans. The breakfast at the hotel was a unique experience. You could order from different breakfasts (criollo, panquecas etc) and also add some extras at... More

This is not a 5 star hotel, nor does it set out to be. It is what it is, an excellent B&B. Owned and run personally by a German lady. We had a garden room at the back of the building that we were quite happy with. Some of the rooms do not have windows (ours did), so if that... More

So quirky with art to look at at every turn, this is a wonder oasis in Merida. My room was small but others are larger. The duvet was divine but wished I could have found how to turn the overhead fan off. The showers had loads of hot water which we had missed in other places. Free tea and coffee... More

What a lovely place in Merida. Beautifully adorned with art from local artists and decorated with a nice Spanish flare, this place is one of the best B&B's you can find. The breakfast is among the best I have ever had with many choices, including your typical eggs, but many you won't find like German style pancakes. This is because... More

Casa Sol was without doubt the best posadas we stayed in all of Venezuela it is a credit to all involved with its creation and the dedicated people that work there. The breakfasts were excellent and the design and decoration of the place creates a bubble of tranquillity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
