Nice place to stay in Easter island. We were there for one nigh before proceeding to Tahiti and were very satisfied. Its is close to the airport and to the main street where you can rent car, moto or bikes, Installations are very simple but neat. Owner was very friendly and let us check out as late was we needed... The Aukara B&B is a locally owned and run B&B located a short distance off the main strip near the LAN office. It is about 2 kilometers from one of the main archeological sites of interest (Tahai – a great place for sunsets). In between you’ll find everything from shopping, restaurants, vehicle rental offices, handicraft markets and the main marina/plaza.... More

Our room had no air-conditioning or television - which can be expected. The hot water from the shower was sporadic - the bathroom smelled from the drains. Shampoo was not available - towels were rationed - overall cleanliness was fair. At breakfast we were told that we could only have 1 1/2 cups of coffee - the actual breakfast food... More

Stayed at this B&B for 4 nights. It is in a quiet part of Hanga Roa, five minutes walk from the main street, and about ten minutes walk from the seafront. My single room was simply furnished, with its own private shower room. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was good. The rooms were cleaned each day, with... More

Comparing Aukara to American or European hotels, it ranks very poorly in terms of value. You do not get very much for the price you pay. I paid 130 USD per night for something that would have cost ~40 USD per night in the United States. My room was extremely basic. It offered a mattress and a COLD shower, but... More

A quiet location with a large room and bathroom. Very clean. The patio overlooks a lovely private garden. The location was close to downtown and coastline. The owners were very helpful regarding any of our requests for help. The basic breakfast was good with fruit, coffee, juice and bread items. Highly recommended.

I spent 5 nights from October 22 to October 27 at this Bed and Breakfast. I traveled to Easter Island to see the Moai, the gigantic statues carved from the basalt rock by the Polynesians who settled the island possibly around 300 AD. Much of the Island history is unknown, but fascinating. But aside from the sightseeing, my stay at... More

Can't beat the location! Walking distance to the main drag, to the Ahu Tahai moai and its neighboring sites, as well as to the Rano Kau volcano (be sure to hike up as it's a beautiful walk) and the Ana Kai Tangata cave. A gas station up the street exchanges money at the official bank rate so don't fall for... More

Aukara has a lovely garden, spacious and comfortable rooms, and a truly wonderful host. The breakfast is good, with coffee, juice, bread, cheese and fresh fruit or cake. We really enjoyed our stay there.
