Kaulem is a little on the expensive side for El Chalten, but we found it well worth the price to have a small, comfortable, and home-like atmosphere. As others have said, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is located in a great spot for easy access to the restaurants and nearby hikes. Only complaint is that...

We spent 4 nights in the bungalow here. The location is fantastic - right next to the start of the trail to Laguna Torre, and a few minutes walk to the many bars and restaurants in town. The bungalow itself is fine, if a little basic and a bit gloomy. However, the main lodge is lovely with a huge lounge...

We were very pleased with this quaint hosteria! The location is great as it is only an 8 minute walk from the bus depot and it has a view of Mt. Fitz Roy (when the weather is clear). The staff is wonderful and the service is awesome! It has a very homey and relaxing atmosphere!

Plus: Good breakfast, good bread/rolls, fresh orange juice, jam, ham, cheese, cereals, eggs etc. You will get your personal breakfast, no buffet, but you can just ask for more if you like more. Nicely decorated and comfortable dining room / lounge with sofas, books, games etc. Nice wooden main building with large windows. Everything is clean. Silent location, 2 minutes...

Rooms are very comfortable, beds are good, two different sorts of pillows are provided and the bathroom is fine too with nice products offered. The tea room/lounge is really nice to sit in and you have a marvellous view. Breakfast was nice. Locations was also...

I couldn't be happier with this hotel!! They play chilled music at reception where they have bean bags all of the floor and comfy couches. All the guests come down to this area to relax and use the internet. Really lovely staff (Especially Tatiana and Julia). They helped us with everything and were so lovely! You will love your stay...

We stayed here at Kaulem for 5 nights, and it was wonderful. Particularly as the weather was so poor -- only half a day's reasonable weather and 2 entire days of rain. We stayed in all day which was no hardship, as the lounge area is large, airy and has several books in several languages -- plus Trivial Pursuits in...

We stayed two nights during our recent visit to El Chalten. Hosteria offers some luxury and great service by staff. The decor is beautiful and the rooms more than comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. Would love to stay there again.

My stay in El Chalten was a great experiene, and the Hosteria Kaulem played an important part in making it so memorable ! A very nicely built small hotel, with comfortable, elegant rooms. Very friendly and knowledgeable team at the reception, they were a great help to design the best hikes around, find the best beers and restaurants - overall,...
