Helpful and friendly staff, warm rooms, hot showers and they are fine with you staying in the communal areas when you've checked out if your bus is in the evening. On the down side though, the breakfast was pretty poor and the kitchen was tiny, making cooking quite a challenge when even one or two other people were doing the...

My cousin and I arrived in El chalten on a cold and rainy day with no bookings and plans for accommodation. We found within walking distance from the bus stop Condor de los Andes. On entering we were welcomed by the reception with a warm and kind smile. Although the facilities were comfortable, clean, and adequate what stood out for...

Hostel is conveniently located near the bus station, but on the other side of town from the two main trails. The location and multi lingual staff are all it has going for it really. Not particularly good value by South American standards, but it seems that everything in El Chaltan is expensive. Hostel beds and comfort are around average. For...

This hostel is below par! The wifi is only available in the main seating area and is so weak it's hardly worth using. Because it's only in the communal area, it's usually impossible to get a seat in the communal area as it is so busy. Cooking facilities in a town this small and remote are crucial. Cooking here in...

Very basic hostel less than a 5 minute walk from the bus station. Breakfast consisted of 3 or 4 pieces of sliced baguette with two packets of butter and jam each. Coffee, tea, and Argentinian version of juice which is Tang also provided during breakfast. This is a very do it yourself type of hostel. Upon checkin they hand you...

This place is very average. The beds are okay and the dorms and bathrooms are just fine. The kitchen, as everyone said, is very small and breakfast is a joke. Only bread and jam with having to pay for everything else is not a free breakfast. The location is good and the area around Chalten is absolute magic but the...

Traveled with my boyfriend, was trying to go to Torres del Paine but give limited time we went to El Chalten instead. SO GLAD we did! Most beautiful hikes I had ever done! El Chalten: - tiny town surrounding by beautiful mountains and day hikes (the two main ones are ~11 miles round trip. I'm not the most active 20...

We spent two nights at this hostel. The location is perfect - you can get to the bus station in 3 minutes, the Ranger station is in less than 10 minutes, and you can find a shop and a bakery in 2-3 minutes walk. The staff was very friendly and nice to talk to. They gave us excellent recommendation about...

If only the hostel was more upfront about what they provide, my expectations would be more appropriate! Checkin was fine, but it seemed I never saw the staff again. The place is very small too, so I'm not sure where they were going. The kitchen is no exception - much too small for multiple people to use, more like a...

The Condor de los Andes is located a block and a half from the bus station, therefore very convenient for late night arrivals. It is therefore also closely located to the Rangers station and the Pliegue Tumabdo trek, but you will have to walk across the entire village. The rooms (we had a private double) are spacious and have nightstands...
