This was a pretty standard place to stay. The place was reasonably clean and well located. Beds were comfy enough and showers worked fine. The place could use a little maintenance - a lot of the tiles are cracking and the WiFi is kind of worthless. The breakfast is decent for the area, but I wish we had been able to use the kitchen to make lunches or dinner. I paid exorbitant amounts of money in El Chalten to eat since we could prepare nothing at the guest house. Staff was generally helpful.

This is definitely the perfect place to stay in El Chaltén, incredible nice and helpful hosts that make you feel very welcome, the rooms are big and clean, nice breakfast and it is close to the start of the hikes.

Our stay at Hosteria Tranqueras was great! We were greeted with hugs as soon as we stepped in the door. The hosts immediately make you feel like you are part of the family. They even brought out a piece of cake with a candle during our breakfast when they learned it was my wife's birthday! We were even able to exchange a few words with them in French, which is pretty rare in Argentina. We stayed in a room which was spacious enough for our family (kids 17 & 19). The only issue was the very inclined steps leading to the mezzanine - better be sober when stepping down these... As others mentioned, the hallway is surprisingly quiet. You are also welcome to leave your goods or bottles in their refrigerator. Well situated for easy access to the shops, restaurants and hiking trails. All in all we would recommend this charming place to anyone looking for more than a simple hotel room.

I wish to go back there again soon. The lady at the front desk desk was super helpful. He taught her Spanish and she also made special cake for breakfast everyday. The rooms were of good size and clean. There was 24/7 hot water. The hallways we're quite. The view from the bedroom was incredible

The staff at this hotel (they ardently claim this is a small family hotel and not a hostel) is great and very accommodating. We stayed two nights separated by one day where we went on an overnight camping trip. They easily allowed us to keep our gear in locked storage in between those days and provided some niceties such as toasting some empanadas at night that we had brought with us and found a taxi for an early morning ride to the bus station. Our rooms and been very clean with all new appliances and bathroom fixtures. We asked for room for three and the first day we received a double bed and a single, and then the second day we were given a very spacious room with two twin beds on the bottom and two double beds in this quaint and well constructed loft. The beds were firm, the sheets soft, and the pillows supportive. I’ve included a photo of the beautiful loft in this large room of ours. Our only one reservation is that the WiFi is pretty terrible and we’ve had to head down to a variety of cafes in order to make a couple important WhatsApp phone calls for travel arrangements.
