If you are in El Chalten, you are most likely here for the hiking and outdoors and somewhat flexible as to your accommodation needs. The Posada El Barranco is a small property (maybe mid-sized for El Chalten) that is comfortable, clean and well managed. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Upon check-in the receptionist checked the local weather report and... More

We stayed three nights in El Chalten and enjoyed to stay at our own small "house". It offers a great space for two persons. The Posada is a great starting point for hikes in the mountains - you can directly start hiking from your front door! The breakfast was prepared in our "house" and offered all we needed. There is... I stayed in Posada El Barranco for 4 nights during our trekking experience in El Chalten with my mum and we were really pleased. Staff was really helpful, always willing to have a chat and give informations about the hikes, the weather prevision or advices on where to eat. The room was pretty comfortable, perfect to rest after a tough... More

Great location, helpful receptionist, clean rooms, decent breakfasts, rooms were strangely very hot at night even though we have triple checked heaters are off... rooms are a bit too small for a longer stay than 2-3 days. wifi only available in reception (and even then, it is very weak), although wifi in the whole town is pretty limited. laundry service... After hiking a whole day most places seem welcoming, but this small posada offered a friendly welcome, comfortable beds and a basic but good breakfast. If possible try for a cabana . Good wifi signal.

The receptionist (and owner, I suppose) was very, very friendly. He took a liking to us because we made an effort to speak spanish and he was just a kind person who let my father try the typical coke and Fernet drink. The young girl who worked mornings there during our stay was also a very cheerful and nice person... More

My college-age daughter and I stayed here this month on our trip through Patagonia in the middle of their winter, and the owners and their little girl were delightful, despite being in the middle of construction at the main building, which was unusable. Instead, they provided us breakfast in our room, which food (including fruit) was already wrapped in cellophane... More

A great little B&B quite close to the start of the mount Fitzroy trail. Shoutout to the AMAZING shower, felt so luxurious and welcome after the previous place in Calafate. If you twisted my arm for something negative is say the wifi is essentially non-existent, but I suspect that's the case all over Chalten. Personally, I'd recommend to look at... More

El Chalten is a tiny town. El Barranco offered more than adequate lodging: clean, new, and spacious. The staff was helpful. The only challenge is that the wifi is not good but that is more of an issue of the small town's access to fast broadband than the hotel itself. Location wise, well there is no bad location since the... More

After a miserable first night, I ended up booking a double room with a queen bed and my friends a cabaña. Reasons why I loved it 1. Hot fresh showers with fluffy clean towels 2. Great wifi access 3. Flat screen tv in the double room 4. Good fruit selection at breakfast 5. Friendliest staff ever!!! 6. Laundry! But fresh... More
