As part of Chaltén travel, this hostel offers a great bunch of private rooms which can be considered as hotel rooms really. The beds are fantastic, the room has space and a great shower and bathroom. And the best thing to this hostel is that it also serves a great meal, both as breakfast as well as on the other parts of the day. In case you need a day trip or laundry service, that is also possible here. So make sure to book a room here when you visit El Chaltén.

The reception staff were very friendly & helpful, both before we arrived & once at the hostel, when organising hikes. The location is fantastic for hikes, particularly for Fitz Roy. The bar staff, by contrast, seemed quite rude/uninterested. The rooms were a good size & comfortable, but the shower cubicle was very small. The large bar/restaurant area is good, but it was a shame that on one day all tables were booked for tour groups so guests of the hostel were not allowed to sit at them.

You find it all here, great service, great prices and great food. The locations is great, the trail to the fitz roy is very close from the hostel, so hiking for the day is easy from here! Highly recommended!

I had an amazing experience here. Right from when I arrived, the staff made me feel very welcome. I understand that they are repeating themselves dozens of time a day having to tell people directions and explain the maps but that didn't make them any less enthusiastic or friendly. Special shout out to Ari who helped me with all of my strange questions, photo tips and trail recommendations. One of the most convenient things for me at the hostel was that you could leave luggage here for camping - I stayed two nights either side of a camping trip to prepare food and get rest. I could leave as many bags as I needed in a secure room with name tags on provided by reception. The restaurant being 24hours is great too, the portion sizes are huge and the food is tasty. It's easy to sit and make friends as the place is busy and there are long tables for great social interaction. The kitchens are well equipped and never seemed to busy to use. The cleaners do a great job! The place is quite big and I never felt like it was dirty or untidy. The water in the showers was powerful and warm and there are plenty to use. I stayed my first night upstairs and my second night downstairs. Personally, I felt that the facilities upstairs were better (bigger kitchen, more toilets and quieter rooms) so request to stay up there if you can. The social aspect of the place with being so close to the trails and town is excellent. We even had Game Of Thrones night! Overall I had an amazing time there and would definitely stay again when I (hopefully) return to El Chalten!

I was able to stay online my last night in el chalten at this hostel. Is the most popular one by tourist and is suuuuuper full always. The best thing that has is, by far, the 24hs restaurant. I mean, what else is better than being able to eat at 1:40am after getting from a hike (meanwhile the rest of the town shops and restaurants are close af). The only downsides could be the bathrooms and that some of the staff is a little bit not so honest (the tried to sell my bus tickets with a company saying that where the only times, and it wasn’t true). But it’s just me that don’t like to be forced or lied in my face. If you’re going in high season be aware to pre book your stay with days (or even weeks) because they really get full. No joke about it. I almost had to sleep my first night in a camping because of not booking before 😅
