I had a great stay at Rancho Grande Hostel - the staff was kind, rooms were modern and clean, and they had a great open area for travelers to work and meet each other. They have a couple good beers on tap downstairs, big kitchen, and offer laundry service for a small fee. The wifi didn't reach my room -... More

I enjoyed my stay here, but staying in a private room definitely contributed to that. It is a standard sort of hostel, full of young people, but it means that if you want a decent night's sleep you should get a room for yourself (unless you're travelling with friends and can get a dorm for yourselves). I used this hostel... More

I really wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt. So, yeah, it's noisy and filled with hormonal 20 year olds. At night it feels more like a party pad than a place to sleep. But, after checking out, I have decided this place just plain sucks! For no reason based in math, they tried to round my... More

We visited in low season so the hostel was very quiet. The rooms were comfortable and very warm and a big common area. Buses to El Calafate available directly from the hostel which was helpful. Extremely close to the start point for the Fitz Roy trek. No breakfast included which was a shame and not much cheaper because of this.

We stayed here for 3 nights after fleeing Condor de los Andes which was overcrowded and increadibly loud. The place was not as crowed and we had a dorm to ourselves..The staff is very friendly and helpful. Only downside - the pots and pans in the kitchen could be in better condition. Otherwise it was a great stay!

Rooms were fine, 4 bed dorms. Showers had a good pressure and were clean. WiFi non existent but that's just an El Chalten problem so can't be helped. Only major issue was that as they have their own restaurant (which isn't cheap) the kitchen facilities are terrible, which isn't ideal if you're on a budget.

The positive things first. It was clean. Every day the rooms and toilets were cleaned. And it is very close to the start of the trail to Fitz Roy. And Luz in the reception was very helpful and nice! The kitchen is the worse! Barley anything to use to cook with. All the pans and pots were burnt. And it's... More

Soo many people at this hostel, downstairs was a public restaurant which meant the only place to sit was upstairs in overcrowded communal area, basically a giant canteen. Wifi was terrible even taking into account the satellite connection. Dorm was okay, downstairs toilets were smelly. Staff were really unhelpful and rude, too busy chatting to eachother. Restaurant was expensive for... More

Mixed feelings about this one. First we slept in a dorm: you get what you pay for. A basic but clean 4 bed dorm (just the beds and lockers), a severely understocked kitchen (burned pots, barely any cutlery, and not nearly enough items for all guests to cook together, and if you want to open any cans, you have to...
