At the foot of the Fitz Roy and Torre mountains, in the heart of Los Glaciares National Park, is El Chalten, National Capital of Trekking, chosen by hikers from around the world to perform the most varied hiking tours and horseback riding. There, right where the trails start, you will find Hostería El Puma, a pleasant and comfortable place for people who enjoy nature in an active way. The Lodge has 12 spacious, non-smoking rooms equipped with safety box, private bathroom with bathtub, hairdryer and amenities. The guest can rest, relax or read a book from our small library, in a large garden or in a warm living room in front of the fireplace, enjoying a glass of wine after a long day of hiking. El Puma has its own private parking (outdoor).
When arrived at the Hosteria they wanted to charge Double the price of the booking.com reservation in Argentinian Pesos. For those who know about the Dollar Tarjeta and Dollar Blue they wanted to keep this benefit for them… Be AWARE and dont pay!!

A pretty wonderful place to stay in the middle of town. Reception was very nice and eager to help with planning tips. Rooms are large but walls are a little thin and you can hear everything in the hallway, but that’s my only complaint. Breakfast was solid.

After a day of hiking the amazing trails of El Chalten, you want to be staying at a place like Hosteria El Puma. My husband and I stayed at one of the rooms detached from the main building, and we loved the high ceilings, the comfortable bed, the private enclosed patio, and the large bathroom + tub. The room was simply and beautifully furnished (think, simple luxury), and there was plenty of storage space. The Puma was also conveniently located close to two major trail heads and Avenida San Martin, the main road. The staff here were super friendly, and the complimentary breakfasts really fueled us well for a day on the trails. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at El Puma for three nights, and we really liked this hotel. Our Superior room in the back, room 13, was huge, modern and very well appointed. Just a really nice room to go back to after our long hikes. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The staff was really nice and friendly and also very helpful in arranging a taxi to the bus station for us. Breakfast was good. The location is great, in the very center of town. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you.

We spent two AWE inspiring days hiking with our daughter in el Chalten. It was our good fortune to stay at El Puma. This exceptional hosteria was exactly what we needed after miles of hiking. It is bright, cozy, comfortable, beautifully appointed. We had a restful and quiet stay because it is located off the Main Street, but still convenient for a walk to town. We also cannot give enough praise for the dining room and the chef and wait staff. Like the common areas and rooms, it is bright and quiet. Breakfast offered is anything you could want - eggs to order, cereal with a variety of toppings, cheese, meats, fresh fruit!, nuts and heavenly fresh baked breads - often still warm from the oven. And the best freshly squeezed orange juice we have ever had. Dinners were equally satisfying and delicious with a varied menu, served with freshly baked starters. Oh, how we would like another bowl of the lentil stew - which we ordered both nights! After a full day of hiking, it was nice to have dependable in house dining - eliminating the where shall we go to eat dilemma. My daughter and I relaxed before dinner in the common area, in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine and our books. Perfect! It should be clear that we give El Puma our highest recommendation,…

The deluxe rooms at the back are stylish, roomy and beautifully done. The bed is huge and comfortable, lovely toiletries, including bath salts for tired limbs, a little private garden to sit out in and a sofa too. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of fresh fruit and freshly made eggs. The staff were very helpful and packed lunches were very good. It is perfectly situated in the centre of town. Really lovely hotel.

This boutique hotel had all the amenities of a large institution in the middle of a one Road Town. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. The bathrooms were very large. I appreciated their efforts to remain Covid safe and environmentally conscious. Laundry. Wi-Fi, bar. Nice amenities after hiking all day.

Lovely, comfortable hotel that provides a great home base for your mountain experience. The rooms were comfortable, the staff was helpful, and the ambience was great. The fireplace in the lobby is a nice touch. The location is also great for embarking on hikes. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in El Chalten! We were quite pleased.

Super cosy; very friendly staff and very close to the start of the 2 big hikes. Even had a bath and bath salts to soak weary legs after a long days hiking! When I left for an early morning bus, they packed me off with an enormous breakfast.
