The Bear is the famous one in Crickhowell, but The Dragon gives it a real run for its money. We stayed at The Dragon for a night in September and rate it 10/10: friendly staff, good food, excellent service, comfortable room, dog-friendly and, best of all REAL MARMALADE and Llaeth y Llan yogurt at breakfast! Fabulous.

We arrived late at this place, with no booking, and again received a great deal on a superior room. The room was beautiful and modernly decorated. It was at the front of the hotel. Excellent coffee, biscuits, chocolate, and hot chocolate in the room. We went for a pre-dinner drink elsewhere in Crickhowell but had dinner in the Dragon Inn.... More

I stayed 2 nights in one of "The Dragon inns" Superior Single Rooms (room #19) located on the ground floor in the annex at the rear of the Inn. The room was quite spacious (for a single room) and had a nice en suite shower room / WC and a small wardrobe, work desk, LCDTV, alarm clock and tea &... More

We had a family meal here on a busy August evening. Food was really good , so was the service although it was very busy. They were happy to accommodate our vegan daughter and let our dog inn. Also reasonably priced.

This is a "Hotel review" NOT a Restaurant review. Couldn't have found a better place if we'd tried. Clearly the Dragon has gone through a refurb in recent times and it shows and does it good. Our rooms, whilst on the small side, had everything we needed. bed, TV, in room Tea / coffee, with a good choice of drinks... More

We love the food here but have always had leek and laver bread burger. My daughter and I are veggies. We went there today to find they had gone from the menu! Disaster!! We substituted, but please bring it back. It's what we come for! Also a mint choc with coffee after lunch would have been good. Then it would... More

There fish and chips are very good - the rest of the menu, which is quite extensive I am sure is also very good. I just like their fish etc. A down side is the car park - the entrance is somewhat narrow, fold mirrors etc. once through the gap, plenty of room.

A party of 22 booked private room on a Saturday night, only to find that 14 other diners were in the same room. All meals were pre booked as well. The standard of the meals were mediocre go say he least and minimal in size. My main douse arrived with 2 small pieces of pork fillet about 1" x 1.5"... More

We booked as a party of 9 for Sunday lunch. Not especially busy but everything seemed to take a long time between ordering and arriving at the table. We ordered some " nibbles" whilst people made their selection from the menu but about ten minutes later whilst we were ordering starters and mains they still hadn't arrived. Drinks took some...
