We booked for dinner as part of our return tour of the Brecon Beacons. It was a good choice. Dinner was really lovely and served in lovely rooms and had a very relaxed atmosphere. Although it was a flying visit we were made to feel very welcome. The hotel is twee and has a feel of nostaglia which is fine... More

Amazing and delicious buffet afternoon tea in this beautiful country house hotel. You can walk all around the grounds down to the river. The tea is sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, and lots of different cakes. The staff are great and we sat in the lovely summer room with the door open to the garden. You can keep going... More

Gliffaes is a classic country hotel set in gorgeous grounds and the surrounding scenery is lovely. The lounges were lovely, well decorated and spacious. The staff were very helpful. The wifi in the room was a little weak and the room not as spacious and a little dated, not quite what I was expecting for the £195 price tag. Had... More

Spent three nights at this amazing hotel. Everything about the experience was perfect. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The views surrounding the hotel were very picturesque. The food and bar were just as brilliant! I would definitely recommend this hotel, and look forward to returning one day.

We stayed overnight and dined here. It is a beautiful house in lovely gardens, our room was excellent with a good view over the garden and valley, it is extremely peaceful and relaxing. I enjoyed a walk in the garden and down to the river and got some lovely photos. We could not ask for better service from the very... More

I've wanted to stay in this hotel for many years, but in the end it was a disappointing experience. We stayed just one night in a small double at the top of the hotel, and as it was hot outside (worse being at the top of the building) we opened all the windows to try and get air circulating but... Spent 10 days with my wife in a sumptuous room with a balcony that over looked the River Usk and Welsh farmland (take a pair of good binoculars, you won't regret you did), staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was partial buffet to start with and followed by waitress/waiter service for main breakfast food. Only stayed for one evening... More

Set in the most beautiful surroundings. This Hotel is stunning, a building of history and a great entrance/drive upto the main doors. We had afternoon tea as a family including our sons (babies) 2yrs and 1yrs old. Selection and choice of sandwiches, cakes, scones with cream and jam, fresh coffee, tea and as much as you want. The staff were... More

Not the type of afternoon tea I've experienced before. This time there was a 'buffet' and you could literally help yourself to as much or as little as you liked. We all enjoyed a traditional choice of sandwiches, cakes and really delicious scones. The setting, overlooking the Usk was a real bonus as was the sunshine. We'll certainly make a... More
