Went for lunch with a friend we both had elderflower presse to drink my friend ordered the wild garlic risotto but she said it had no flavor of wild garlic or much flavor at all. I had the crispy duck salad with rocket salad it tasted great but the portion of salad was so small it was more like a... More

We have been visiting and staying at this hotel for a number of years now and it really is a truly special place. Our last overnight stay was on impulse as we were visiting friends for lunch but upon reaching the drive to the hotel I was determined to stay as long as possible. What makes this hotel so special... We booked a Saturday night at the hotel through Booking.com and was excited at staying in a 4 star hotel, the approach to the hotel is beautiful with its fantastic views and gardens. The staff were very polite and helpful. The room number 21 was situated by the cleaning cupboard high up in the hotel and the living bedroom space... More

Staying at this hotel is like returning to a time when service, attention to detail and good taste were valued. The location of the hotel is magical, the rooms are charming, the staff are attentive, and the food is exceptional. The hotel restaurant uses locally sourced vegetables and meat and it shows. I certainly hope the owners do not change... More

What a wonderful experience this was. Staying here was stepping back in time. Wooden flooring and paneling overstuffed furniture everywhere. The estate has lovely grounds on the river and provides a 'tree walk' identifying over 50 old and new trees including three California redwoods. The sun room and patio overlook the river also. Room are of varying size. The large double... More

Located in a forrest on a hillside overlooking the river Usk, facilities include accomodation, restaurant, bar, tennis courts, nice walks. lovely gardens. Be sure to bring your Sunday best when attending dinner. Breakfast is also superb (the writer experiencing his first smoked kippers!). Wifi... More

Beautiful setting overlooking the River Usk, we had a large river view room, which was very comfortable, with king size bed and a newly refurbished bathroom. The building was very nice with various reception rooms to relax in and a large bright conservatory, and the grounds were extensive and well maintained. We were shown around by a delightful young lady... More
