An hotel that would not be out of place in an Agatha Christie novel, solely populated by retired couples on their individual deals. We stayed on the Travelzoo £99.00 deal that offers two nights with breakfast. Since we upgraded we paid a little more. We must compliment the owners in in their initiative, which I suspect to offer rooms at...

My husband and I booked a 2 night bed and breakfast break through Travelzoo, this was extremely good value and we throughly enjoyed our stay. The owners were very helpful to all their guests, they offered information, tips , maps and recommendations. The area is wonderful for walkers, cyclists, fishermen and the Elan valley is a beautiful place to visit....

We organised this trip as a surprise birthday treat for two old friends, knowing from past experience that the hotel's soothing ambience and beautiful setting would set the scene for a relaxing weekend stay. Delighted to find that standards remain high, with first-class service throughout. Rooms are clean and in good decorative order, with comfortable beds, good linen, towels changed...

There is a lot of history to this hotel and the current owners have done a really good job of establishing a good hotel. When you stay here you stay in what was the old house, not as is the case with many similar hotels, the modern, charmless, sterile extension on the side. With that comes a compromise, the floors...

We have recently returned from a two night stay at Caer Beris, we enjoyed our stay but think we probably wouldn't make a return visit. The hotel has beautiful grounds which are lovely to sit and have a drink in or a nice walk. The staff were very friendly and attentive at all times and made us feel very welcome....

The hotel and grounds could initially be mistaken for a 5 star hotel. However this hotel must be judged by its room rates and not its looks and grounds. Its room rates are much more down to earth and with special offers (e.g. Travelzoo) are positively cheap. The rooms all appeared large and well furnished. The reception staff were welcoming...

Stayed here on a Groupon deal for a 2 night stay in January and really enjoyed the visit. The food on the first evening was really lovely. Enjoyed the atmosphere and our room was wonderful - we were in "Her Ladyships Room" with fab views. Couldn't have had better weather. It poured with rain overnight but the sun came out...

Stayed at the hotel on a discounted break for two nights. Thought we might have had inferior service but nothing could be further from the truth. The staff could not do enough for us. Have been in customer service myself for over forty years and I was so impressed. The rooms were comfy, bathrooms good and bed was amazing. I...

We arrived for our two night stay and was made to feel so welcome from the off. This is not the normal reception at other establishments when you have your Dobermann in tow. This is a family run hotel which I think is why it made this hotel so comfortable for our stay. All the family especially Luke gave all...

Stayed at the hotel for two nights and ate in the restaurant on both evenings, attentive staff and really nice grounds. Great walks (so don't forget your walking boots) along the river. Town is small but full of character with everyone we met being really friendly. Hotel was warm and welcoming, with plenty of space on the ground floor to...
