Have never stayed at the hotel although I know it has a good reputation, but I went here for lunch, and what a great location. We were placed in the dining room that looks down onto rolling lawns to the river below, absolutely beautiful, and the food was also really good. The menu was a limited on choice, I don't... More

On arrival the manor house and the grounds are stunning. We were greeted on arrival and was very pleasant and a quick procedure. We were taken to our room, The room seemed tired and smelt old and damp. The decor is also need of updating, walking back to the bar area again corridors old and in need of decoration. The... More

Visited for a friend's wedding recently, now the hotel was very picturesque and the surrounds grounds were incredible. Great views by the river and generally really nice. The hotel looks like it could use a bit of updating however that only adds to the old timey look of the exterior. My only complaints are that the bed wasn't overly comfortable... More

We took advantage of the hotel offer to stay for three nights including a Sunday and only pay for two. The building is late Victorian and was the home of the former Lord Swansea. It has been converted into a hotel with over 20 rooms. The staff were very friendly and the meals could be taken in either the conservatory... More

This is the second time we have visited this lovely old hotel and I never tire of looking at the scenery. The hotel was quiet when we visited and we were able to talk to the staff who really looked after us. The food was top notch on both occasions we have stayed here. My only slight niggle is that... I really enjoyed my week on an art course at this quaint and quiet old charmer of a building. She may show her age a bit, but I don't care about that. I care that I feel in some sense "at home". And I did. The staff added to that - friendly and kind. That's one big reason why I... More

We decided to take a few days away and we hadn't been to Builth Wells before. The hotel was lovely and the staff were extremely helpful and polite. Our room was actually quite a way from the reception and didn't have a very nice view (over a roof onto a skip area/car park) considering the hotel is set in beautiful... More

As an extra surprise for my 60th birthday in June, my husband booked us in to Caer Beris to also celebrate our Ruby Anniversary. We spent our Honeymoon here and have returned several times since the children grew up to attend the Welsh Kennel Club show. After a few years away, it was great to be back and had a... More

Groupon voucher made this good value and we had a fair size room at rear of hotel with pleasant view of river. Room looked like it had been refurbished about 10 years ago and while clean was showing wear. The bathroom had walk in shower but laminate floor that was obviously not waterproof and in need of replacement. Tissues and... More
