Staying at a lodge on site and had to go over the river on the wire bridge to the manor for a drink when we arrived. Bridge I did not like, but the manor is a big must. Step back in time its fantastic, great, just to look around and have a drink. The staff we spoke to are great and always smiling so it gives the manor a good atmosphere. Music in the back ground.we had a nice time and a couple of drinks after talking to to the staff we said we would be back. We decided to come back for Sunday lunch, ( please note the Manor has just started CARVERY on a Sunday ).... Sorry but it was fantastic NO complaints, I had roasted ham , it feel of the fork, my loving wife had Turkey, and it was just as tender. Went in to one of the lounges with our drinks after our meal to chill, and relax. Overall you can see we loved the vist and it was a great visit will recomend a visit👍😃🙂

We stayed here for our 21st wedding anniversary for 2 nights 11th and 12th of may . I phoned ahead to say we might be late as we got caught in traffic, this was no problem. The hotel is great with amazing grounds and it's so quiet. We had a great room too Looking over the grounds and river. The breakfast is amazing and the staff couldn't do enough for us . Really laid back place . Great location to travel out from too. Were be back for sure Lee and sam

Stayed here last weekend as we were attending an event on the Builth Wells Showgrounds. Ate in the hotel 2nd night and it was superb. The lamb rumps were cooked perfectly and well presented. Breakfast was also great with lots of choice. Service was lovely, always staff around which you don't always get in country hotels. We will be back.

Have visited twice before and the staff, food, beautiful location and property have compensated for the dated bedrooms, however, something has changed! Welcome, not quite as friendly. Room, disappointing and not quite so clean, bathroom bin full of previous occupants rubbish, not very pleasant. Evening menu choice wasn't great but chose steak and wasn't asked how I wanted it so had to do this and asked for medium rare, leaning towards the rare. Steak came and was medium, leaning towards well done. The others at the table werent blown away by the food either. It was a Saturday stay and check out is 11am, but breakfast is now only until 9am! On a Sunday! And finally, in our previous visits breakfast was a menu, with lovely fresh choices, served to your table, now it's a hot self service buffet. Although the continental option was varied and looked good. So I'm guessing we won't rush back again, or recommend as we have to many others. Real shame

The grounds of this magnificent manor are vast and incredibly gorgeous. Set on a 27 acres of parkland surrounded by the River Irfon, this is a unique destination. The building is showing its age in the external and in some areas of internal infrastructure, mainly in the upper level of the building. The entrance and lobby are well presented. Nevertheless, there is a disparity with the standards set on the downstairs and rooms. My room was ample and accommodating. Cleanliness didn’t go beyond the easy access failing in attention to details. Restaurant - closed. It has been since January. Only serving continental breakfast.
