Stayed one night last minute late evening booking. Owner and staff were very pleasant and helpful; a friendly family business. Would stay again. They are obviously working hard to gradually improve the place and have just re-laid a brand new ample carpark.

Highland Moors was the perfect base for us whilst my son was competing in the British Cycling Mountain Bike National Series this weekend. Sue allowed us to have an early start breakfast and was so helpful making my son fresh porridge before his race. Comfy beds, a super shower, easy parking and water outside for washing down the bike. An old house that the owners are gradually improving. We had an excellent large room with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and glorious sunsets to boot! We were B&B and the breakfast was excellent, although we would have preferred individual portions of butter and preserves.

Thank you for your helpful comments. We have purchased individual portions of butter, jam, marmalade and yogurts as we do agree with you that others may also like that option. Thank you for your suggestion More

I realise that this place has loads of good reviews so I am a sorry to place a contrary one. I had a room with no ensuite, which is a massive fail for me. I hated the old fashioned decor(read old) It smelt like old nappies the day I arrived. The ensuite I had was miles away and had no... More

Rooms have been painted over the last few years and some freshened up earlier this year in a period colour.... More

The staff were very friendly and the rooms are an excellent size with a good shower. The furniture is a bit dated but the bed was comfortable. Excellent cooked breakfast in the morning. We had great views across the countryside. They will serve an evening meal if sufficient guests want it - minimum of four required. The only main concern... More

Thank you for your helpful comments Keith. We have now portions of butter, jam, marmalade and yogurts. We do generally lay up for the numbers by room but when we have 20-30 people we lay up all spaces as it's easier for guests to sit where they like and guests get served quicker rather than having staff lay up during... What can I say, had lovely views free pool and other games breakfast was lovely and owners couldn't do enough for you. Unfortunately we had to leave a day early due to the misses feeling very ill but again they were very apologetic. Would definitely return again!!!!!
