Should have known it wasn't going to be a good weekend as when we arrived we were told they didn't have our booking so showed booking number receipt on iPad to receptionist and she then said she would sort it out. We were given a superior double room, well they may have called it that, but not long after arriving... More

Stayed for a weekend wedding in June. Great venue as our room at the back was very quiet despite the party going on on the other side of the hotel. All the wedding food was delicious despite the large numbers they needed to serve and the hog roast looked amazing too. Great disco upstairs so plenty of space to party... More

Recently stayed here as my normal hotel was full, was slightly concerned after reading some reviews. But pleasantly impressed Yes you can smell a bit of damp but it's a very old building, which is clean and very nice Bar food is excellent as was the breakfast Will stop there again when I'm in that area

The hotel is snuggled alongside the local hospital. Down a single driveway opening out into a the tumbledown assortment of ancient buildings. Guarded by elegant peacocks. Our room, a junior suite, was comfortable if not a little tired. Tap broken, damp patches and cushions that need replacing. However, the place exudes Welsh History and class. The staff were uber helpful... More

Nice place. ( But the top floor needs air-conditioning. Far too hot up there and most windows are not able to be opened... In warm or hot weather it is like a sauna in there.} Breakfast could do with being later in the morning too. Say 11 am not 9.30 a.m. But the rooms are lovely, the staff are friendly... More

After a bit of an emergency at the hospital next door, we had to stay the night in Bodelwyddan. The manager was extremely accomodating for our unusual situation, and we're so gratefull for him personally going out of his way to help out. We really didn't have the easiest requests but they made it all work. The only thing I... More

The room at first glance didn't look to bad however after sticking my case in the door and spending the day with family, when back, the room is actually disgusting. And, the smell inside and outside can only be described as mix of damp and sewage. The staff couldn't really be bothered as this place is pretty much filled with... More

The title says it all. The Faenol Fawr was fantastic when I visited for the first time almost 11 years ago and is just as fantastic now. Lovely location, atmosphere, welcoming staff, great menu, delicious food and very well priced! Will definitely be returning!

We often stay here The hotel is set in a beautiful country park type setting Their is no doubt the rooms are in dire need of refurbishment Specifically the shower in our bathroom was the old fashioned type fed from the bath taps - no thermostatic temperature control which due to the very hot water could be considered dangerous Secondly...
