We booked in advance and cycled over from Strontian. Carol and Peter were lovely and welcoming. Peter makes fantastic scones which we sampled with a lovely cup of tea sat overlooking the water watching the sun go down. Nothing stiff and starched like some places we've been, it was like having someone look after you in your own home.

We stayed in the twin room for one night. Smithy House is clean and homely with some nice touches such as dressing gowns in the rooms. The view was great! We feel that it may be best to stay here on shorter breaks rather than spending an entire holiday here. Please note, if you have larger luggage you may struggle... More

Called in after bird watching Golden eagles and sea eagles. A lovely little cottage with stunning views. When we first walked in we thought we had walked in to their own living quarters! Anyway after a morning watching eagles we were starving so ordered two lovely toasties a coffee and tea. Delicious. Peter the host was very warm and friendly... More

We spent the night here on our way to Iona. We were made to feel at home by Carol who was the perfect hostess. It was very clean, the food was perfect and the view over the Loch was breath taking. Carol provided all bath salts imaginable, along with sprays and creams.... we had the most relaxing time. The dressing... More

Just booked up again so thought i'd let everyone know how great this B&B is! Visited the Isle of Mull June of 2015 and stayed at Smithy House B&B. The couple Carol and Peter were excellent with the kids and made us feel so relaxed and comfortable very quickly! The view from our room over the lake was superb. The... More

This is a small and very personal B&B with charming hosts, Peter and Carol. It is located in Pennyghael on the road to Fionnphort in an idyllic location with views over a beautiful loch! The two small bedrooms were very comfortable and quiet. The generous Scottish breakfasts each day were fantastic. Thank you Peter and Carol for your helpful and... More

We (including our wee dog) were made to feel extremely welcome at Smithy House. The setting is perfect, right on the loch with ducks and chickens running around. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the food was amazing. Home made scones and cakes galore and the full Scottish breakfast was the best ever. I'm now hooked on Stornaway... More

Lovely setting right by the loch, nothing too much trouble. Great freshly cooked breakfast and unlimited fruit and scones available to take out for lunchtime snack ( if you can manage one after such a big breakfast ) didn't have evening meal as didn't know what time we would be returning in the evenings. Plenty of books and dvds available... More
