You will not be disappointed with Carminish House. You will be assured of a warm welcome with lots of nice tea and cake in a lounge with an amazing view. Val and Pete are excellent hosts and will point you in the right direction with regard to getting around. Carminish House is within easy walking distance of the restaurant for...

Well where do I start, this is not like staying in a B&B, was like staying with my cousin, on arrival we were given a choice of home made cakes & lovely mug of tea, stayed for 2 nights in a lovely room overlooking the sea, Pete & Val couldn't do enough for us, the breakfast was to die for,...

We stayed here by chance after getting stranded by sound of harris ferry cancellation. Knocked on door unanounced and welcomed in with offers of tea while Pete checked with his wife Val and other B&B owners where our bed would be! So pleased after that when they offered us lodging. Setting, house and room was terrific. They even booked us...

We stayed at Carminish House B&B as a couple in September 2016. Pete & Val could not have been better hosts and have made us feel more welcome! Within minutes of arriving we were given some of Val's legendary lemon drizzle cake and a lovely mug of tea and we were thoroughly spoilt for the whole of our stay! Comfortable...

A very warm welcome with tea and cakes, a good introduction to a very lovely house. Good sized bedrooms, comfortable beds with fine linen. Good sized bathroom. Comfortable guest lounge with home made cakes in the afternoon. On leaving we were given cakes for our journey. The breakfast table was beautifully laid and the breakfast was excellent with lots of...

We really enjoyed our stay here. Val and Pete couldn't be more helpful and friendly - even booking our meals in the evening locally. And the breakfasts were lovely - lots of choice, not just the full Scottish (although we did have that). We were really sad to leave.

Stopped here for one night on our tour of the Hebrides and Pete and Val were like friends we've known for years. After a long trip we sat up having coffee and homemade cake! Would definitely visit again. Home from home!

The previous reviews say it all, but I'm going to say it all again. Val and Pete were fantastic hosts. They were very welcoming and extremely helpful with offering advice about local attractions and eating options. They even advised us by email to book a restaurant for Sunday night as most places are closed. The outcome was that they ended...

My wife and I were very fortunate to benefit from a cancellation here and stayed for two nights during the second week in July. From the outset, Val and Pete were unconditionally welcoming and we were made to feel 'at home' in their beautiful home. Our room (Lapwing) which was spotless and comfortable faced the front of the house and,...

By far the nicest host we encountered on our six week tour of Scotland. Val and Pete were so friendly and helpful. We even got a fresh baked brownie and piece of orange cake upon arrival! Val loves to cook and it shows in the quality of the breakfast we received. The omelete was awesome! Our room was very comfortable,...
