Having driven from the Isle of Skye to the Muir of Ord, we were looking forward to settling into our next bed and breakfast. You approach the property up a long driveway, which was full of massive pot holes which the owners had put rubber matts over - not entirely sure why as this wasn't going to stop you driving... More

We stayed one night with our sons and two dogs in two double rooms. The rooms are clean but need to be refurnished. We had a nice dinner in the quiet bar, a little music in the back ground would be nice. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The bar and all the other public rooms need to be... More

I spent my birthday here, food was good and friendly staff, as someone else commented, no TV in rooms and carpet in the bathroom and novel dumb waiter in the dining room. The worst feature is the driveway (if you can call it that), it is half a mile long very narrow and full of deep potholes. It would be... More

I stayed here for 6 nights whilst working locally. On arrival, you approach through a long drive up a very rough lane way and out of the trees an old country house appears and on first impressions you get the feeling you have driven into a private house. The building is very old and very quirky. I had trouble finding... More

We do appreciate that the wifi has not been good for the last couple of weeks and are addressing the issue. We should be getting quicker wifi as of the 7th July - 2 days time!! and we are all looking forward to it. Thank you for pointing out the security issue - I will make sure that it is... More

I am undecided whether I really don't know what to say about the Ord House 'Hotel', or whether to fill a whole page. The picture of the place gives an impression of a 'grand' old Scottish dwelling, with a bit of style, but don't be mislead. First impressions on arrival at the front door are not brilliant, less 'hotel', more... More

well...thank you for the review as we like to know where we are doing well and where the problems lie. We do know the drive needs mending and we try and patch pot holes but as you say, it is quite long...by the way our hotel signs are professionally painted signs on metal. The advantage of course of the long... More

Friendly helpful owners and staff . Good accommodation . Breakfast fine. We had dinner and lunch here and that was excellent . Gardens were wonderful especially when the sun shone! Booked through booking.com and their info re prices was not particularly clear. If booking I would do it directly with the hotel.

Very different to your normal hotels talk about going back in time it reminded me of the game Cludo the staff were great but could have been charectors like Mrs peacock or professor plum the guests could have been part of it too as they just sat in different rooms reading I was half expecting someone entering my room with... If you like corporate uniformity and chain hotel neatness, then don't go here. However if you like odd and quirky then definitely go. The staff are great and ready to entertain with tales and their take on history. The food is excellent and the "juke box" ( a record player in the corner of the bar) has all your old... More

Stayed just for a night on our way north. All four hosts were very friendly and we had a fine welcome from the owner. The room was a bit small and the bathroom needs some investment, but we both had a good nights sleep, which is what is was important. Our dog was made very welcome and, unlike other places... More

Lovely house, beautifully decorated and furnished with two spacious living rooms complete with fires, papers, antlers and Scottishness. The bar is a treasure, and we were lucky enough to have Johnny the Laid of Ord on bar duty, having partaken himself and in fine spirits. His wife Eliza is the chef and you have a choice of bar meals or... More
