We had an absolutely great meal here. We shared the scallops to start they were delicious and for our mains I had mussels served in a lovely sauce and my partner had fish and chips. The fish was lovely and the batter light and crispy. The chips were homemade and also delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed it and wish we could... More

I'd called in on a rest day in March, a beautiful day. Ullapool was quiet, before it becomes very touristy, and I enjoyed a wonderful chowder in the peaceful Ferry Boat Inn. Again, this Thursday, I called in and again it was a rest day and I enjoyed the chowder. Didn't need to eat again until evening...

Wow, what a super location for a really good pub/restaurant/hotel. Right on the waterside with great views. We could well have visited on the warmest day of the year. We stopped for a meal in The Ferry Boat. The Blue Kazoo restaurant serves a brilliant fish based menu. From the sea to your plate in seconds. I ordered Mussels and... More

We stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of August. The location and setting of the hotel is brilliant with views right on Loch Broom. Unfortunately the room we were given, Room 5, was very poor especially for the high price - small, frayed carpet, window didn't open properly, view was of hotel wall, and noisy toilet, lamp didn't work,... Wifi did not work, bath cistern made amazing noises when flushed, no remote for TV, fire doors wedged open Good atmosphere in bar with music, but better food elsewhere, Gents toilet awash on the floor; hope it was a water leak rather than urine. Dismayed by uninterested atittude of staff. Overpriced - no breakfast included in room rate.

Perfect spot on the harbour front: great food (the BEST mussels) and an idyllic view. Room was a bit dated but had everything needed and the bathroom was pokey...BUT the view from my window couldn't be beaten as it looked straight down Loch Broom. Evening with a glass of wine and a good book on the harbour wall while live... More

Stayed one night on an NC500 trip. At £150 for the night this was a total rip off. The room was small, worn and there was mould on the windows. Wifi didn't work and the noise from the bar downstairs kept us awake till after midnight. £50-60 with a noise warning would be more reasonable for this place. The only... More

My wife and I stayed at the Ferry Boat Inn for one night. From the moment we entered, we regretted our decision. The Inn is tired, worn and dirty. The bed was lumpy; the bathroom had a filthy, smelly carpeted floor; the TV did not work; the WiFi was intermittent; and sounds from the downstairs pub prevented us from sleeping... More

The hotel was in a fantastic location, right on the sea front and near everything in town. Parking is an issue, but a bit of hunting and dropping someone off outside with the bags makes it easier. The room was very clean and had everything we needed, but was just a little dated. Also the noise from the beer garden... More

Given the cost of staying here you would think they could invest in some upgrades. Bedroom furniture and bathroom fittings were from the 70's. Bed was small for a double, but comfortable enough. Bathroom was tiny. All bedroom doors would slam close quite loudly so expect to be woken by those coming back later or leaving early. Location is fantastic... More
