Having visited the Ferry Boat Inn many times in the past it saddens me to put this review on Tripadvisor. On Monday after arriving on the ferry we called in for a drink and to book a meal. The bar was empty apart from two very loud and raucously drunk locals. The bar staff appeared oblivious to their behaviour was making us... Stayed for one night in room overlooking the bay. Considering we were in a room above a bar it was surprisingly quiet and waking up to the water lapping on the shore was wonderful. Only noise issue was when the people in the next room closed the door everything shakes. The auto closes on the door are a bit tight.... More

We stayed here one night on our tour of the Northcoast 500.When we checked in the bar/restaurant was very busy. The person who checked us in took the time to answer all our questions and directed us to a better parking place (it was difficult to find parking on the street). I really felt he went out of his busy... More

Rooms are tiny with a tiny window that doesn't open very wide. So the room gets stuffy. Didn't want to stay an extra night but couldn't anyway due to it being booked. There are few accommodations on the island. The view from the Inn is so lovely it makes it worth it to stay there. They oysters are fantastic!

FBI is in a great location, right on the shore front. We booked for 2 nights but had to swap rooms for the 2nd night so had to check out at 11am and check back in at 3pm. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy but our first room had walls of paper, could hear every word from... More

Rooms are too small to allow 2 suitcases to be open at the same time. Bathroom is without a counter; only has a pedestal sink which adds to the awkwardness. We avoided the really noisy bar nights during our short stay - thank goodness. Breakfast was not included; so we opted out. There is a nearby Tesco which is only... More

Arrived around lunchtime and looked for somewhere to get a cup of team and a bite to eat. Whilst the FBI (as the proprietors like to brand it) is certainly not the most salubrious of places, the tea was good, leaf tea in a strained pot, and the Chowder and bread was good, hot and hearty. Good value and ideal... More

I stayed for one night in a single room. The room was pretty basic really and was far from huge. I guess it was adequate though and quite clean. Service was only experienced at check in and was pretty ordinary. Location on the front is great. If you get a room with a view it would really help All in... More

A group of us on our annual tour of the highlands decided to use the Ferryboat Inn this year. It's a great location, lovely food, friendly staff. The room was small, but that's part of it being an older building and wasn't a problem. Great stay thanks !

We had an absolutely great meal here. We shared the scallops to start they were delicious and for our mains I had mussels served in a lovely sauce and my partner had fish and chips. The fish was lovely and the batter light and crispy. The chips were homemade and also delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed it and wish we could... More
