Stopped for two nights at the Argyll Hotel, it was a little hard to find the car park as the signage isn't too great and you need to know prior that it's the fire door at the back you need to enter with luggage - Knock if it's not open, people will hear! All in all it wasn't too bad,...

We stayed here for a night whilst travelling through, and it did the job. Warm, relatively comfortably, friendly staff (particularly the gentleman serving breakfast), and a quick a decent breakfast. Good parking also, which we needed. The building could do with a quite a bit of redecorating, the walls are a bit thin, but for what we needed it was...

We only visited the hotel for dinner and had mixed experiences. The bar was very busy and noisy with locals who I have to say were using language not appreciated by us. We ordered our meals at the bar, fish pie and fish and chips. The fish pie was nice, tasty but not a lot of fish, the fish and...

Me and my husband pre booked a nights stay and when we parked our car at the back of the hotel and walked through the back entrance our hearts sank as the garden area was unkempt, untidy and scattered with rubbish. Our room however was rather nice except for the shower which was not very powerful. Other areas of the...

We booked the last room available for 3 people which was the room with bunks. It is sufficient for a stay and the bathroom is opposite the room. I wouldn't describe it as modern but it was worth the money especially the breakfast which was brilliant. The evening we stayed, there was guitar music which was great entertainment and really...

It is undoubtedly a bit rough and ready and in need of a good going over with a vacuum cleaner in the communal areas but there was something a bit charming about the chaos. We arrived late and the young female on reception was most gracious about that. We dumped our bags in our room so that we could have...

Our room was comfortable and refurbished with a lovely view but there is so much lacking and otherwise poor about this hotel. We wrote directly to the Argyll Hotel but have never had a response. We felt the charge was expensive when we booked but there was little else available. The room was a furnace when we arrived as the...

For being above a pub we weren't sure what we were in for but was pleasantly surprised. Food was very good and accommodation was nice, no thrills but was exactly what we needed. Although it was above a pub there was no noise from the bar.

Last December my fiancé and I were booked to go across to Stornoway, however the ferry was cancelled due to a storm so we started looking for dog friendly places we could stay. The staff were extremely helpful, answered all questions easily and were very happy to take us and our dogs. We were given one of the big rooms...
