It is undoubtedly a bit rough and ready and in need of a good going over with a vacuum cleaner in the communal areas but there was something a bit charming about the chaos. We arrived late and the young female on reception was most gracious about that. We dumped our bags in our room so that we could have... More

Our room was comfortable and refurbished with a lovely view but there is so much lacking and otherwise poor about this hotel. We wrote directly to the Argyll Hotel but have never had a response. We felt the charge was expensive when we booked but there was little else available. The room was a furnace when we arrived as the... More

For being above a pub we weren't sure what we were in for but was pleasantly surprised. Food was very good and accommodation was nice, no thrills but was exactly what we needed. Although it was above a pub there was no noise from the bar.

Visiting Ullapool, Sunday28th Aug. At 1 pm we went looking for a place to have a drink and something to eat. Our first stop was the Argyle Hotel where the barman was obtuse and not helpfull. we left and went to the Ferry Boat Inn. Unknown to me they are owned by the same person. We were treated in there... Last December my fiancé and I were booked to go across to Stornoway, however the ferry was cancelled due to a storm so we started looking for dog friendly places we could stay. The staff were extremely helpful, answered all questions easily and were very happy to take us and our dogs. We were given one of the big rooms... More

Not many places to eat on an evening and many tend to have a ridiculous system whereby you can not book in advance. You have to call in and put your name down until your table is ready (a great way to boost your bar profits). If you arrive after 7.00pm forget it, they wont add you to the list.... More

Our family of 4 stayed here for 1 night as our second stop while driving the NC500. We parked in the car park at the rear & found reception through the traditional old fashioned bar. Thankfully the room was a lot more modern with lovely views overlooking the water. Bed was very comfortable. We were booked on a room only... More

Our family of 8 stayed at the Argyll Hotel in July 2016. 5 of us had rooms on the top floor of the hotel and these we modern and had nice en-suites. We also liked the color schemes and decor in the rooms!! We also ate dinner at the pub downstairs and had very good pub food. They also have... More

For a good night out in Ullapool, look no further than the Argylle. The food looks appetising and reasonably priced but the music sets the place alight, Monday is a Folk Players circle, take your instrument and join in, all welcome and be you a regular or a visitor you will be assured of a warm and enthusiastic welcome.
