After 2 nights spent in an awful hostel, I was so grateful to have booked into this one. It is in a terrific location overlooking the harbour and mountains. It has a homely feel and lots of spacious to not only have privacy but to fully relax. A large kitchen with everything, large dining room and lounge. Really good wifi....

Gorgeous seeview, nice little rooms (Twin room), well equipped and clean. Very friendly people. A really nice stay overall. Good pub right next to the hostel. Hostel strongly recommended - it's resonably priced.

I stayed at the hostel for one night and it was superb. After 5 night of wild camping this hostel felt like heaven. Beds and bedding were really comfortable, bunks sturdy. The sitting room was super cosy with an unbeatable view over loch broom. There is a drying room if you arrive as a trekker or cyclist. The staff was...

This hostel is a great place where you can meet people like minded. The hostel is managed by very friendly staff, and despite there are only two members staff but its constantly clean and tidy. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I will go there again this summer to repeat this great experience.

this is a good basic hostel - I have stayed a number of times - it is a good location but the rooms can be expensive compared to a B and B if you are travelling in a group. The kitchen is big and has some pots and pans and crockery and cutlery, the showers are good but there is...

Hostel staff very approachable and friendly. Great location just along to the RIGHT when leaving the terminal. Communal areas on ground floor include a quiet room which is nice to see. Stairs to dormitories and WC's. Local fish chips drinks etc maybe a bit on the more expensive side although appear to be well supported particularly if on shore front....

We (5 friends) visited during the Easter Break which happened to be at the same time as a large ish group from the all weather ramblers. The hostel feels very small and if there is a large group about who (inevitably) do things at the same time then the hostel feels even smaller. Some of the signs indicate that you...

Impressive from outside, modest from the inside; but perfect for one who wants to wash clothes, get deep into conversationes and respects recycling. This place was my rescue really- after a long trip, I found everything I needed from here. And Tom from the reception gave the cherry to the top; excellent service, good and honest talks, and Buddhist flags...

For what you pay, this hostel isn't really worth it. Paying $35/night and having no free wifi is absurd! The location is the best thing about it, but Ullapool is so small it hardly makes a difference! You also can't enter the hostel between 10 and 4:30, and you get locked out after midnight. Next time I'd pay extra for...

    Amenities

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Ullapool Youth Hostel has a spectacular location on the seafront, offering wonderful, ever-changing views over Loch Broom and the Beinn Dearg mountain range. Rooms vary in size and include both private and multi-share, a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, two small lounges and an excellent laundry and drying room. There is also a dining area where you can eat breakfast while watching the fishing boats, birds and seals in the harbour. Wi-Fi during your stay: We do our best to deliver a free Wi-Fi service but apologise that connectivity, particularly in our rural locations, can be intermittent due to the level of our current broadband provision along with high usage when the youth hostel is busy. Please be assured we are endeavouring to improve where we can. We thank you for your patience and understanding. ... more   less
