We came to this hotel as part of a coach group. I think we took over most of the rooms. Some of the party had been before but it was our first time. The hotel is a little dated and if your looking for 4/5* luxury your in the wrong place. If your looking for spotlessly clean hotel with really...

We had a great four day stay. Staff at the hotel were brilliant and could not have done more. Food was excellent throughout. The one small disappointment was the shower on our room, which was only running at a trickle.

First time of celebrating the new year in Scotland and a brilliant experience. Food was superb with generous portions. Certainly couldn't eat it all. Staff so helpful and local which was good to see. Manager the friendliest I have ever come across. Bedroom was large and bed comfortable. Never had such piping hot water and hotel was extremely warm throughout....

We have just been to The Bruce Hotel for an evening meal and despite arriving at the same time as a large bus party we were shown to our table straight away and our meal was served without delay by excellent friendly staff and the food was superb. Well done to all concerned.

Stayed here for a night during the summer, pleasant stay! Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Food in the restaurant was lovely, big portion sizes and friendly staff. Good value for money for what we payed!

Lovely hotel on the main street into town. I asked for a quiet room and got room 12 on the 2nd floor (no lift) which was as requested. At the end of the corridor at the back of the hotel. Delighted with that ! Room was clean and bed comfortable. Shower needs upgraded but water was certainly hot. Staff are...

Stayed one night only before getting boat to Ireland. My sister, my husband and myself, also our dog, stayed in a family room at the top of the hotel. Very clean and comfortable. My husband and I stayed in a larger room, with en suite, and my sister's, separate, room adjoined ours. My only complaint is that the windows did...

The Bruce was perfect for a two night stay in between self catering cottage bookings. I booked over the phone and was made to feel like we were valued before we even arrived. We had an upper floor room (2) on request overlooking the main street from the bedroom and the car park from the bathroom. Street noise disturbed us...

We were booked into the Bruce Hotel by the organisers of the Wigtown Book Festival in which we were taking part. We arrived around 10:30pm and, after checking in, visited the bar. The young man (who was also on reception duty) couldn't have been more welcoming. We were made to feel completely at home. The facilities in the room were...

We just went for a meal and it was fine. I had the fish pie which was good, my husband had the pork & that was good too, both came with vegetables. We all enjoyed the deserts which included the usual sticky toffee pudding, plus treacle pudding, both excellent. The only comment I have is about the parking, a very...
