We love staying at the Bruce Hotel, the atmosphere is very laid-back and friendly, especially as everyone is so accommodating with dogs. The bar food is home-made and good, breakfasts the same. Our room was large and very comfortable with a nice bathroom. The furnishings may not all match perfectly but it's certainly not a concern for us!

The Hotel is quite an old original building with additions. It is well located for walking around town. There is a parking lot behind. Be careful, the entrance is through an archway that is narrow! A warm welcome, good service and food. My room was large and comfortable, with a small TV that actually worked fine. Had a lovely view... More

We stayed here whilst biking. We arrived late but the Assistant manager Paul could not have been more helpful. There was a secure room for the bikes, and even helped us carry up our bags. our room. Our room, a family room, was massive with a settee, a bathroom, and adjoining door to a big twin room. We could not... More

We stopped over on a cycle tour for Friday night. Despite arriving late we were welcomed with great food and an attentive and un-rushed service by the staff. Room was comfortable and bike storage was secure. Full Scottish breakfast was excellent. Happily stay there again

Stopped here when cycling from Glasgow to Carlisle. We were very late arriving and just arrived as the kitchen was closing. Thankfully we were warmly welcomed and they allowed us to place a meal order straight away(we were starving after 101 miles on the road!). The owner kindly stored our bikes securely indoors. All staff helpful and welcoming. The food... More

Stopped in for a bite to eat - will definitely be back! The serving staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious! I had the Cairnsmore Burger and my wife had the fish and chips. The dining room was clean and tidy, and despite being quite busy there was very little delay in getting our food. A... More

9 motorcyclists stopped here mid afternoon 26 June 2016 en route to Cairnryan Port in the expectation of acquiring a bite to eat. The hired help was aghast. A party of more than 6 should really book in advance you know! Anyhow peering round the corner we pointed out that apart from ourselves this was a hostelry completely devoid of... More

I stayed on a Saturday night with 7 other biker friends. Off street parking was good to safeguard the bikes. Staff very friendly and helpful especially the manager. Room was fine if slightly dated and the evening meal and breakfast were both good. I'd defiantly not hesitate to stay there again. Also very helpful when I had to phone the... More

Called in for dinner on route to the ferry. Good meal and friendly, helpful staff. Plenty of choice on the menu. The only thing that would let it down is the decor. A lick of paint would go a long way to sort this problem.
