Stopped here last Sunday 21st August 2017 for Sunday lunch. We didn't book but parking was easy, we found a table easily. The staff were friendly and most important of all the carvery food was superb. Beef was rare just as we like it and plenty of it. We chose a regular size and unless your really hungry was more... Very friendly and helpful staff in a hidden gem! It is worth the gamble of having to brave a mile of single track road(with very few passing places) to reach this beautiful old pub which has so much character. The food was fantastic and the garden at the back idyllic! You could not ask for better hosts and their food... More

We stayed three nights in Plum Cottage. The owners had informed us that the cottage had one double and two "very small single rooms". Don't be put off, they are fine for a short stay. The cottage was lovely, all the amenities you need. And the beds were very comfortable. The pub restaurant serves good food in the evening. Breakfast... More

Staying with relations south of the A30, they took us to this country pub, along narrow country lanes until we reached this delightful pub, where the food was delightful, at least our steaks were, and the sticky toffee pudding a treat to die for!

What a find! A very good room where they allow a dog. The food and the beer were fantastic. My wife says the Pinot was also very good. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. There are lovely walks to the River Nadder.

Me and my husband stayed here for an overnight stay and dinner on our travels and it was superb!! From the moment we arrived the staff were fantastic. A small country pub with amazing food and a good wine selection. We stayed in room 3 which was a good size with very comfortable beds. I would highly recommend making a... More

Had a fantastic lunch. Scallops perfectly cooked. Tried the chicken & rhubarb....was dubious, but with all the delicious additions on the plate it worked! Garlic mash a must. Creme brûlée with blueberries - heaven in a pot. Will definatley return, it's a tricky one to find but so worth the effort. Boys behind the bar & serving food, very charming.

Great room, wonderful food and such friendly people. We had a lovely stay. The evening menu was great and all courses were 5 star. Breakfast included had heaps of choices and was excellent. My only complaint was that the wifi did not work in our room.

This is a lovely old traditional pub that we had the pleasure of staying at for a night B&B. Also we had an evening meal in the pub. The food was best I've tasted lots of choice and all local produce. Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. The room was very plush and very comfortable , one... More

My husband and I stayed two nights recently on a walking tour through the southwest country. We stayed in a room just above the pub which is a welcoming and lively place on a Friday evening. It's quite old (14th century) and the ceilings low so head ducking is in order if you're on the tall side. A lovely breakfast... More
