I have to admit we have been to the Beckford Arms quite a few times and this was our second stay in the wonderful Splendens Lodges. Two lodges, located about 5 mins away from the Pub and are set in the amazing grounds of the Fonthill Estate. They are just the thing, if you want a quite escape to the... More

We stayed here last Thursday, just for one night en route to Cornwall, but will definitely be back. The room was comfortable, the dinner very good, the breakfast amazing, and the staff very friendly and helpful. It is in a gorgeous location, set in a large estate of farm and woodland, with a lake, unfortunately we only had time for... More

This place is really special. Lovely hotel room with a bath in the room. Breakfast was superb. Food in general at all times is superb. Staff and friendly welcoming. The outside area is really lovely too with a child friendly area. We visit frequently and are never disappointed.

The Beckford Arms is a great pub with rooms in beautiful surroundings. We recently stayed for a night in the one dog-friendly room, which looks out on the substantial beer garden. The room was very welcoming and comfortable, there was even a dog biscuit for our greyhound. Everyone who served us was friendly and helpful, going out of their way... More

3 well kept real ales. A separate menu of craft beers and unusual gins was a bonus. As you enter this pub there is a really good feel to it, welcoming and friendly There is a comfortable lounge (with sofas and an open fire) where we ate, a pleasant bar area and a large, airy conservatory. The garden is large... More

A gem of a pub found just off the main motorways. I had the fish and chips which was delightful. My family all enjoyed their various foods as well. Lovely setting and waitresses were very attentive. We didn't realise about the pizzas in the afternoons or we would have stayed for those. Worth a visit if you are in the... More

From arrival to check out the place was top notch! The staff are super friendly and accommodating, the rooms are lovely, charming, clean, well appointed. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the restaurant had a good selection for dinner. We ate there three nights in a row and didn't get bored! I would definitely recommend this place for a weekend... More

Saturday lunchtime. Could not book until 2 pm. Did not appear that busy (there were spare tables). The item we wanted off of a short menu (chicken salad) was unavailable. Then waited 1.15 hours for our main course (fish and chips). Waiting staff were delightful under pressure. But management obviously disorganised or complacent. If for whatever reason kitchen service is... More

I stayed here with my family for a wedding and it was delightful. I stayed in one of the smaller rooms which was still a decent size, bright, homely and comfortable. Bed was cosy, shower was perfectly hot and easy to use and no noise issues at night. The dinner/breakfast was delicious and I love the little touches like a... More

For the first time we stayed at the lodge instead of in the pub itself. The lodge is in an amazing location, with everything you should need. A small but practical kitchen, lovely comfy sofa with good size TV. Upstairs the roll top bath that looks out over farmland and sheep is just amazing. The bed was comfy and the... More
