We have visited Acton Scott working farm museum several times over the last few years. There is always something recto see at different times of the year. A nostalgic trip for me having grown up using many of the implements in use on this farm today. Staff are always helpful and I always learn something. Great homemade cakes etc in... More

We stayed here at the end of the Vintage Glider Rally at the Long Mynd in which I was taking part. We received a very warm welcome, my quite pregnant partner arrived while I was still on the hill and she was very well looked after until I got down! The room itself I would describe as comfortable and traditional... More

We were lucky to join a free guided tour that was led by a guy with knowledge experience and humour who loved the work he does Well explained as to the way the farm still works the old way What a change from the usual glitz and sound bites Thanks for a great day

I have recently been feeling extremely stressed out due to both my job at Heathrow Airport, and the built up area where my wife and I live here in West London. I realised straight away what the remedy would be for my problems and it didn't involve your traditional medication. The only thing for it was another visit to the... More

I haven't stayed anywhere like this for about fifty years but perhaps for some this would be part of its charm. We booked it because it was four star and found it a little disappointing. The setting is wonderful and Edward and Mary are very nice people. It is really quiet and very convenient for visiting Ironbridge, Ludlow and Church... More

We are actually only a three star 15th Cent. Farmhouse B&B on a working farm, as far as I am aware I have never stated or inferred that we are four star and I am sorry that you found it disappointing. More

Our interest in this place was piqued by Ruth Goodman's shows. Coming here lived up to our expectations. It was beautiful, the animals were great, and the employees we encountered were gracious. Our daughter enjoyed bottle feeding lambs and watching Charlie get geared up for tedding hay. I enjoyed the walk by the ponds in the shade of such giant... More

I stayed at the Acton Scott B&B due to the close proximity of Acton Scott Victorian Farm which is walking distance. The cottage is 1500 years old and furnished with 1950s furniture. A quaint cottage on a working farm. The stay was pleasant and you must be prepared for uneven floors and very dated furniture and decor. Breakfast was satisfactory... More

Sorry you thought the breakfast was not hearty enough most people find it plenty, and there is always more tea, coffee toast available if you want it, after you have had your fruit juice, choice of cereal, fruit, sausage, bacon, egg, baked beans and tomato. More

Completely recommend this delightful place set in the heart of the countryside. It's wonderfully silent at night, gorgeous views during the day, the rooms are very comfortable and the owners very polite and understanding, especially as we aren't early risers. Had a very relaxed weekend here and would love to come again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mr and Mrs Jones at Acton Scott farmhouse offer you a warm, friendly welcome for bed and breakfast on a working farm, covering approx 120 hectares. The 15th century traditional style farmhouse is of stone and inside original, exposed beams give it much character. Based in the small village of Acton Scott where the television series "Victorian Farm" and "Escape in Time" was filmed, just under a mile from the main road. This is the A49, from Shrewsbury to Hereford; yet it enjoys all the benefits of being in the heart of lovely, quiet country, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Acton Scott is an excellent place for exploring, cycling and walking - with footpaths leading out of the farmyard. To the North, three miles away is the Victorian spa town of Church Stretton and to the South is wooded Wenlock Edge at a similar distance. Sorry NO Dogs at present. Why not try the Acton Scott Farm Walk taking you through farmland with beautiful views of the South Shropshire countryside ... more   less
