Myself, my baby son, best friend and her daughter stayed in otter cabin on Dry Island. When we arrived we got a feast of squat lobsters to eat which was great. The views from otter cabin were amazing and we had a great little holiday. It's not luxury but it's comfy and relaxed. Recommended:-)

My husband and me stayed here for our honeymoon. It was a really great choice. The landscape is very nice. Ian, Jess and the kids are all very kind and lovely. They helped as with everything. Thanks again for everything. We will come back! Best wishes Martina&Lukas

Dear Guest Thank you for your review and for staying with us. Firstly to address your points. You did not tell Ian on the phone that your partner was disabled. We will amend the website to add to the statement ‘not suitable for walking difficulties,’ and we will add a ‘reasonable level of fitness required.’ There is no damp in... More

We love this side of Scotland and the Old Curing Station only confirmed that. Ian, his wife family were great and couldn't do enough for us. The beautiful surroundings and peace was wonderful. The beautiful sandy beaches within ten minutes drive. Ian's Sea Safari we recommend and his knowledge is something else. You have to cross a bridge to reach... More

My husband had read about this Inn in the Rough Guide and doing a day trip from Tain we decided to leave the circle we were doing to experience the food that was highly recommended ! The location is unique, 5 miles off the main road to this tiny little inn where a river meets the Atlantic Ocean . Little... More

it does say on the website that you need footwear wit good grip soles to get here, nowhere does it say how steep the access and dangerous underfoot it is to get to the island, I was offered to get to the road in a little rib but that was dependent on tides. It does not say anything about people... More

dear guest, thank you for your response, you are right access to dry island is difficult for people with walking difficulties, if you would care to read the brochure that was sent out to you, it does say, 10 minute walk from the carpark, rough underfoot, suitable footwear required, luggage can be ferried over by boat, there is also a... We love visiting quiet spots and this place is right up there. We rented the Old Curing Station and although Ian and his family live upstairs we were allowed our privacy whilst still having pleasant chats with his family. The trek to the road is part of the attraction and although the weather was mixed it is what we often... More

I have to admit that I booked this holiday thinking I was booking Garelochhead - my Scottish geography letting me down!! However, even though it was an incredibly long drive from Hampshire, it did not disappoint. After an intresting drive up and then walk down to the cottage via the floating bridge we were in heaven. We stayed in the... More

We stayed here for a week, This is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed. The house has everything you could need for a home away from home, so next time will not pack quite so much!.
