As we arrived late on the Saturday, I couldn't be bothered cooking in the caravan, this hotel was a 1 min walk from the campsite, we were welcomed into the bar area and asking if we wanted to eat there or in the restaurant, choose to eat in the restaurant, we shared 2 starters of haggis balls with a lovely... We visited the hotel with our 3 children while on holiday. The staff were very friendly and attentive however the food was a major let down. I had the Herring fillets which were advertised in the specials board. They came coated in oatmeal but had no taste and the accompanying "chefs vegetables" were far worse. Two boiled potatoes, a floret... More

We visited on Saturday afternoon. The sun was shining and the terrace outside was great to sit at. We ordered gammon steak/chips, omelette chips and soft drinks. Food portions were quite generous. The bill was £19.90. Good was alright but gammon steak was not cooked properly do I had to leave the inadequate portion. Staff were lovely.

Years since I have been in here and it will probably be at least that before my next visit! We only popped in for a drink and found the place basically empty. Barman could do with learning how to smile and interact with customers who, in this instance would most assuredly stayed for more than just one drink!! Our drinks... More

Being hungry and not wanting to cook, I decided to nip to one of our local hotels The Millcroft for a sumptuous supper in their Hartleys Bistro. It was a lovely sunny evening and I was given a window seat with a sea view in which to munch at the Millcroft. I thoroughly enjoyed my fish, cooked in the lightest... More

It was all wrong from the moment we walked through the door and had to settle out bill and choose our breakfast. I still had bags in my hand Bins not emptied, only light in bathroom did not work, lack of warm welcome, piece of wood to hold open the window had bedding removed because it was dirty. Never ever... My family and I visited the Millcroft hotel and stayed for our tea, we ordered steaks and the kids both ordered of the childs menu, which meant they got a free ice-cream. The meal was delicious, especially the peppercorn sauce which we ordered with the steak. we were able to enjoy beautiful views from the restaurant and found the whole... More

I went to the Millcroft on Friday night as I was staying in the campsite next door, my dinner was so so, soup starter was nice, but chicken stuffed with haggis was very bland, more huge slices of carrot than anything else. Staff friendly enough. Biggest let down is the bar....was full of drunken foul mouthed locals, not good as... More

I don't think I have ever posted a negative review before however feel I need to this time if only not to devalue all the lovely places I have stayed. Well the good things first, breakfast was fine, staff at breakfast very attentive. Bad things start with the welcome of, what would you like for breakfast, at what time and... More

My sister and I recently booked a 3 day stay in a 3bed apartment at the Millcroft. Now I've never been a 'first class' traveller but this place was something else! On arrival we were advised to purchase 3 electric tokens by the receptionist as the hot water heater runs away with a lot of electric. On entering our 'apartment'... More
